this is the window in the room. I was planning to board off the other end of the room and have my ducting leading to this top window. leaving the window open with a box ofver the top is not an option. So does that just leave the option of getting two holes cut in the pane? And if so, how the frick do people get the ducting to attach flush to a window pane?

Many Thanks

How about just taking out the top window frame and boarding up? that worked for anyone?

have you not seen the vid where the dude builds a grow room from start to finish?

I am not sure I am infringing forum rules but this should give you an idea - this vid is probably gonna give you a good idea what to do..

just watched that vid again.. lol.gif its been a few years.. It takes a while for the build itself to kick in.

my flash players not playing ball at the mo, but if I recall, doesn't that dude leave the window open and put a box over the window. I'm not in a position to leave an open window like that, dodgy area you see

Boarded up window = Very hot imo sad.gif is that the only option?

the only other thing you can do is take the full top pannel out and board over that and cut your hole in that, but make sure no one can see the window

dont want them ringing the 910

Correct me if I'm wrong people.but does anyone remember those round plastic vents that used to be put into windows and had two pull strings with plastic balls on the end.one bit of rope opens and pull the other string and it used to close the vent.not seen them for years but if u could find a couple and get them inserted in the bottom of the window it might work.look a bit Suss with two of them in a single pane of glass.just a idea.

other option is just having vents in the window which I assume is pretty tricky. and dont know which looks more suspect, a board with vents in it or just a window with vents in it. OR... a board with vents in it, and then a hood like thing over to block view, basically a box on the outside of the window.

I think whatever way u play it it's gonna look a bit funny.I suppose if the window is not visible to other propertys it would be alrite.the other thing u have to think of is if ur exspelling hot air it's gonna be quite visible in the winter coming out the house.if it's ur house that u own u could get a hole cut thru the wall and put a vent on the outside wall be ideal if u could route it into the top of a central heating boiler flu. Then u have just gotta work out where ur intake is gonna come from.

You could get standard window fans like vent axia, toshiba, that come with all the bits for fitting into double glazing. Looks like an ordinary vent fan, that gets over anything looking odd. Take out the fan bit, and duct or whatever to where it's needed. I think you can buy the window kit without the fan. Best look up vent axia on xpelair sites or similar.

CANT YOU EXTRACT THROUGH THE WALL AND PUT ONE OF THEM COMBI BOILER VENTS ON THE OUTSIDE TO MAKE IT LOOK FITTING
