Ok so i think i got it a little help please if iam wrong.So i have a nice big closet,i have a 600hps light,and it gets hot!!!! so i need information on exaulstin the air out and intaking fresh air.
Thare is a valuLine 6' 435 c.f.m. Blower 6 inch because it fits my 6oohps... so i would have to buy two of these to be an exualst and intake,i just flip the fan around to make it intake-exualst..right.
yet whare iam i going to exaulst it????i live in an apartment downstairs,i have niegbors upstairs...??? i have a window in my room right next to the closet..
.but!! i dont want to exualst the air out the window because it will reek like herb... what to do??
i think this is whare buying a carbon charcoal filter comes in, so iam confused the carbon charcoal filter looks like it fits a can fan or blower on it .??
( how does a carbon filter work do you exualst the air (carbon out of the carbon filter can???
or do i exualst the closet marijuana smell out into the carbon filter??
do i leave the carbon filter in the closet next to my plants when growing..?)or outside the closet exaulsting the smell into the can?

the closet doors is not air tight its a sliding door,you know a regular big closet sliding door,its not air tight,how and should i air tighten it, smell is number one on my concern,followed by heat... just simplifiey the carbon filter exualstr and intake please sorry for the noobiness
Full Version: Exualst-intake-carbon Filter-no Smell,basic Help
Hiya plenty, the fan fits onto the carbon filter either directly or with some ducting in between, the two are then hung from the roof of your grow area with more ducting to exhaust the hot air out of your window (keep it stealthy though, nothing more obvious than ducting hanging out of an open window 
) If hanging the fan/filter inside the grow isn't possible you can have them outside the with the fan blowing through the filter rather than sucking, but this means exhausting directly back into the room the cupboard is in which isn't recommended due to the heat and humidity of the spent air.
You want to maintain slight negative pressure in your grow area to prevent any smells leaking out, so generally the intake fan is smaller than the extract one - in your case if you're going to be using a 6 inch to extract a 4/5 inch intake would be OK. As long as the fans are always running there won't be any smell, but you do need to lightproof any gaps and cracks as the plants need total darkness for 12 hours when flowering. This can be done pretty easily with rubber draught excluder strips, duct tape, sealant, velcro - whatever you've got lying around or can find in a hardware store

inside the tent filter ducting fan ducting exhaust, best outside but you could exhaust to the room (but it will get hot and stale), is the best way to describe it
ok ok ok hold on my friends..so the ducting will clamp on my fan will suck the hot air from my light through the carbon filter..right..so no exualst fan on my 600hps...... instead have the exualst on the carbon filter so the hot air passes through the filter... then after the air passes through the carbon can,what next... the air is stil thare in side the closet. this means iam going to have to buy 3 vortex fans.. one to exualst the closet out through ducting out the window.. then a vortex fan intaking through another ducting via the window into my closet bringing in fresh air..and the last fan connected to the filter sucking the hot air throught he filter??? it makes sense to have the carbon filter can outside the closet already filterd because the air is going through the can.. is all this right,wish i had a video or a growing for dummies explaination.

something like this will work, but the fans ned to be on 24/7 for odour control to be effective.
