Can anyone tell me briefly what the hell I do to get online? Ive owned my xbox now for about 6 months, had it in the spare room away from the phone connection. (we dont do wireless). I now have it in the lounge, close to the phoneline, and I have the ethernet cable, plus six months left of my free gold membership. Do I just plug it in, the console senses we're plugged in, and it tries to connect me? Then I follow the on screen instructions? Or is there more to it than that?

just go into your settings its all in there, plug it in, switch it on and connect to xbox live, tis very easy, if you need more help, drop us a pm.

you might have to reset your router and reconfigure the factory setting on the xbox, but its worth it, just for cod4

you just plug the Ethernet from xbox to router. it should just work straight away, if not you may need to adjust your NAT settings on your router.
also with certain routers the UPNP (universal plug n play) isn't too great so you may need to forward the ports . PM me and i can talk you through it

i must add , you don't get 12 months free with it , its usually only a month. and unless you rigged it up to the internet and added the code , it won't have been activated

NO NO and NO !!
way overpriced, they renew even if you don't want to and it is a security risk if you sell xbox or it gets stolen, your cc details are on your xbox.

ebay or play.com or blockbusters. i got 13months for £25
xbox sell it for £42 for 12months
