Ok my toking friends i am considering buying a (L x W x H): 2.4m x 1.2m x 2.0m bud box, and will be using 2*600w HPS shines. Now looking ahead, The only place i have to put this is in my attic, now with winter coming it gets bloody cold up there and im worried that once the lights go off the temprature will be too cold, even if i switch off the intake and only leave on the extractor and oscilating fan it will still be bloody parky and the extractor will pull out any heat i may add from a samll oil filled rad i have , if i switch both intake and outake off and just have the heater and normal fan on then it will condensation up to the max? any ideas / solutions please gladly recieved before i purchase one of these instead of building a proper room. Im sure some of you guys have allready dealt with this succesfully by now and can point me right. Thanks in advance. Mr.T

insulate your attic. use thick cellotex/kingspan. just cut it to shape, then tape it in place, leave a gap between the cellotex and the inside of your roof. quite pricey, but you want your attic insulated anyway, otherwise it's gonna look a bit sus when you're the only house without any snow on the roof! wink1.gif

My loft is huge and 2 600's are not going to melt the snow lol.gif, to insulate it the way you say is beyond my affordability.

I think you will be better to turn off both your in and out and just use your lil rad like you said.

ow and you will be surprised, 2 600's will melt snow! ph34r.gif

if you're extracting outside and your extraction is good then, then it shouldn't heat up too much i guess, personally i think tents are crap. grow rooms need to be insulated for the reasons you say. too hot or too cold, instability, and just make it harder to control things. i'd just make a room. you could do it with kingspan, someone on the boards did just that, just make a room out of kingspan or chipboard and rockwool, wouldn't cost that much. boarded out and insulated my entire shed for 100 notes. over 2 square meters, a xxl tent costs more than that!! obviously you have the bonus of being able to dismantle it though and MUCH less work lol.gif

wjy dont you get a fan controller and just turn em down at night? doesn't need much airflow to remove humidity

Right im gonna build a room now instead, think ill feel safer than hanging all that stuff in a flimsy tent thats going to give me problems. When you say insulate it? what do you mean? fibre glass inbetween the tiles and the board im gonna use to build my room, fastened to the beams, then mylar on the grow side of the boards, will this be sufficent to stop the snow melt then?

will provide an infinitely better environment too, temps will be much more stable, and providing you have adequate ventilation you should be able to grow all year round without problems. tents + lofts = raging hot summer, freezing cold winter
