Full Version: How Much Do You Spend On A Long Weekend In 'dam?

I'm thinking of going with my mate before christmas but i'm not sure how much cashmoney i'll be needing, last time £350 was good for about 5 days but that was peak times
Blayz'd
lol.gif I went there in Feb on a stag weekend thing. Went with £500 and came home with 50 euro. All the boys I went with took about £300 and ran out of cash on the second of 3 days. To my dismay there was more drinking than smoking, which probably accounts for where the money went. If I was going there just for a smoke and to chill, I doubt I'd get through half of that in 3 days. Unless I was buying some hardcore hash and sharing my smoke. For a long weekend visiting coffee shops and not drinking, I'd probably need £100 a day to spend. Half for food, half for a smoke. That's without hotel or flight. In total I think I spent about £800 in 3 days with flight, hotel and cash spent. I'm thinking the organiser didn't bother shopping around lol.gif Fuck knows why we went to the dam to drink. Can do that anywhere lol.gif I was disappointed to be honest. Still had a good time but didn't get to visit many places. Stayed in bed when everyone else went on a heiniken factory tour lol.gif Would've rather gone to the canna museum or coffee shops or something. Next time I'm only going with tokers and I'm doing what I like instead of being tied to a crew of other people lol.gif

the dam seems to me to be the kinda place you could lose ya wallet and still have a good weekend or take a grand and still have a good weekend. ive managed to always spend all my cash in the dam nomatter if ive got 150 quid or 600 it still gets hammered lol.gif. 100quid a day spends would be plenty for most peeps imo

Last time I went was for one night so basically a day and a half and I spent £160 on food and weed, no hookers or drink.

I would go with about £80-100 a day, the foods quite expensive as is the juice and that, for a small bottle of juice like apple or something from a coffee shop your about 3-4 euro and that was over a year ago now might even be more expensive, infact when I spent the £160 thats when the exchange rate was a fair bit better, it was 1.40 ish then.

Been thinking of going again but the money factor puts me off.

how to say this with out causing any offence but the "queens" are just band wagoning on the queens birthday and mainly stay in one part of town it's like 800,000 people in one big street party and most of the large square's/parks have entertainment on tiesto in musemsplien with a biffta of jack herer cant fault it(but we gave the two unlimited a miss because there are some limit's) check the you tube vid's on it propa mad

Queen's day is the queens birthday party and is a huge street party for all Amsterdammers (and all dutch for that matter).

Queen's Day in Dam rules - it's full on carnage for everyone, not a gay pride thing. I've been 3 times and it's wicked - there are sound stages everywhere, with tunes to suit all tastes.....techno, rock, jazz, more techno, dnb, more techno....and the centre is packed like Notting Hill Carnival gets (esp. from the station down to Dam square). There's always a DJ set outside the Greenhouse and mental stuff going off all over. The local dammers go absolutely fucking mental and it's amazing to be around. I've never seen any trouble, but I've seen more insanity than I've seen in London....people standing in between the train tracks taking a piss with oncoming train.... fireworks/bangers.....boats.....birds....and lots of orange and green smile.gif

Well worth it, but not a mellow trip to Dam by any stretch

alrite m8, im not long back. Love the place, the ultimate chill zone or a place of madness lol.gif. I thought it was pretty exspensive coz of the state of the pound, i changed some money and actually got less back after comission.

Your paying between 11 and 17 euros for a gram of green, didnt really touch the solids so couldnt tell you. Went to 1 place and aid 14 euros for 2 beers.

i found barneys was the most chilled, eat food, smoke weed and drink beer all in the same place. Just nip over the road and grab a bag of tweed from barneys coffee shop or greenhouse down the road. Eutopia haze from barneys was nice and the trainwreck from greenhouse was quality... tongue.gif

Usually between 100 and 150 a day should be cool, depends on how much you eat, drink and smoke spliff.gif
Get Yourself to the Grey Area for some Chocolope thumbsupsmileyanim.gif wow it gave me the munches rofl.gif

hope you have a good time m8, would love to be there now... beer.gif

Think I was 275 euros to stay at the continental hotel on damrak when I went with the ex, can't remember how much the flights were a couple hundred or something for both. Then about 600 for both us, but that was pleanty for a casual weekend of smoking. I smoked, ex drank. No hookers, well only the one I took with me.

Was out there the other week for 5 days and spent around 600e (not including flights or accomadation ) .Price wise, now the pounds gone tits up its expensive,£2.00 for a small coffee ,£3.50 for a small beer wasn't uncommon. Weed from 6e a gram in Haarlem for white russian through to 17e in barneys for a 100 % sat, payed between 7e to 25e (very nice iceolator) for a gram of hash.I stayed in an apartment (100e a night) so no need to eat out ,and spent most evenings in with a beer or 2 and the apartments bong.

Well in scotland you've only got easyjet from edinburgh which go's from about £65-150 and from glagow you only have KLM which starts at £120 odds, from London you can get them for about £80-90 with KLM and theres plenty of budget airlines to.
Jush
if i'm gonna fly it'll be from East Midlands because all the other airports are too far away from me

Wow, Queens Day looks amazing.

One of the worst airline companies going.

You get what you pay for, flown to 'Dam with them every time (5) I've gone and not had problems worse than a long wait to check in. Using a cheap airline doesn't really matter for a trip to 'Dam, you can take enough clothes in hand luggage so don't have to pay extra, everything else is cheap and kinda cheerful, crapper than more expensive airlines but it does the job. smile.gif
