Hi all,
Well the story goes like this.......
Popped an la woman from dna which germinated no problem at all. However when i opened the paper towels i see she had two root tips?
Strange i thought, but potted her up none the less and now im presented wit this:
Click to view attachmentIm assuming the smaller growth will die off and the stronger gal keep going?
Anyone had this before?

why would you nip the little one? would it not be worth seeing how it grows out, plus if it is a part of the other, won't it stress the littlen?

rip the little fucker out
ive had this several times, and only once did anything come of the smaller shoot (blue cheese), in the end i wish id have pulled it so the plant could concentrate on budding the main shoot. The small one was always smaller and ended up with shitty air buds on it.

edit: coz i cant spell

I had one do that, Strange enough - It was also a DNA genetic, a 'Sour Cream', that when popped grew two shoots.. one just shorter than the other. It ended up being a male in my instance. I'd love to see how it turns out though providing its a girl.

I think ya should leave it n let it grow. Anomilies in nature ain't always bad.
You may also gain your own valued experience that you can pass on to another fellow grower In the future if the same question pops up.
Also, I'd like to see how it turns out.
keep us in the loop

I squased a seedling once in a pot of soil and turned the
soil over,a few days later about ten little ones popped up.
Dont know why and havnt tried it again,it was an accident.

Thanks all for the replies, strange one fo sure guys i try find photo of seed when it first germinated>>>>it looked just like two growth tips only one seed !
Some siamese shit going on
Talk of being male aint good when im paying for a fem bean is it
Well im going to leave it for now but tbh honest i think i will probably pull the runt in the coming days as i dont want it messing up the potential of the more dominant one.
But u never no i may become attached
Lets hope it aint male and anyone else with experiences please post your views.
Cheers dudes

I had an Ice plant that was like that it turned out to be a male, I also have accidently broken off part of the root whilst putting the germinated seedling into root roits and the broken bit grew into a plant also it had leaves from day 4 of it braking off

Right i nipped the runt today just cant be doing with plants being held bk or even the possibility of it.
At least the dominant one can now be left to its on device.
As i pulled on the runt it felt as though i could probably seperate the two as badbwai mentioned but i didnt wanty disturb the other root so just broke it off with me nails.
Well its one for the uk420 files if anyone needs a bit of info in the future.
Thanks for the replies

They're called twins I think - did you germ them in a towel or directly into soil/coco/root riot? If not into a paper towel then you won't have seen the dual roots coming out of the seed case. I've had a few of them, I think it was Subcool's 3D and Pandora's Box that did it on a few beans, and when I asked then people said they were twins.
I grew all mine out and they all turned out to be beauties. No herm, no runtyness or weird mutie growth, just a strong healthy plant. The secondary growth either stays very short at the bottom of the stem (and is trimmed) or grows up into a big second 'mainstem' with a big ole cola on top.
That's what happened with mine....YMMV...

MAn i would have liked to have heard that before a nipped the runt, but never mind at least i no for the future.
Yes greenninja i germed in paper towels which is why i knew it was a strange one in the first place as i could see the twin sprouts.
Well if it happens again i think ill give the twins a go!
