81% Phosphoric acid (some use nitric) if you can find it more cheaply from another source (it's what ph down is anyway)...

Personally I'd avoid using household chemicals, lemon juice etc. due to problems of quality (purity) and consistency...

No, not Jewish, but a govt funded disabled person.

£4 is more than what he has per week to spend on 'luxuries'.... truly.

But it was an amusing post, against a backdrop of govt sponsored poverty.

Thanks for the other replies wink.gif

You could use lemon juice, or any other citric acid for that matter but you'd need alot so you would actually be better off spending £4 on a bottle of pH down.

Hydro can be expensive so if you're on a tight budget I would have thought compost a better option?

Compost was the option for the last few grows; but he cannot get rid of the pots in a hurry if he needs to (3 times last year).

Wth hydro he can use a macerator to reduce the biomass. He can do this in about 15-20 seconds.

Do a search on citric acid powder, used in fermentation/cooking. It's around the pound mark for 100g, a teaspoon is the equivalent to 1 lemon

We had to do it 2 months ago, as I say 3 times last year.

His council landlord officers are aggressive. No use in complaining, tried and effectively ignored.

He keeps other veg in there to explain the set up.
