Mr. Sparkle
Hi folks,

My Satori and Aurora Indica are at day 31 of 12/12. Over the last week or so they stepped up a gear and I missed it doh.gif all of a sudden their water demand and feed demand went up a notch. The Satori started showing early Mg def so out came the epsom salts thumbsup.gif

The plants were recovering nicely, but now the 1 nirvana aurora indica in there has started having problems with the lower fan leaves:

i always get a few yellow fan leaves at the bottom of the plant... i think its because the leaves have served their purpose and are dying back.......

looks like a natural process of dying fan leaves, it usually occurs later in the cycle. They may have started dying earlier because of vitamin deficiency, which you have rectified.but the dying process for the fan leaves had already started and you where too late to rectify it.Your growing parts look ok so take off all of the dying leaves and you will be ok. Correct feeding is the key during all stages if you want healthy plants.
An observation of mine over 20 years of growing and experiments is that the fan leaves supply the parts they are attached to(the stems)so the more fan leaves that are growing the thicker and stronger and bigger the plant. If you take the fan leaves off , the flowers will still grow.Done it loads of times when attacked by spiderman.
Some growers advocate the stripping of fan leaves when the plant reaches various stages of flowering.it lets light in to the lower flowers and if you use a lay down method all the buds will mature at the same time.It is a pastime that has many variables which give us our fun and knowledge. You can grow buds just on their own in pots if you know how.there are some photos in my album. I am going to do a piece on it later. now I have been forced out of the woodwork by the plods again (see my bit on cannabis activist thread).I may be able to help my fellow members with their hobby by avoiding the mistakes I made. have fun Eric Mann

Thanks thumbsup.gif

I had kinda hoped they were just elderly leaves but as it was occurring on the only indica I have at the moment I was just worried that what had been good for the satori had been too much for the indica.

thanks again smile.gif

Hi bro, dont mean to alarm you but have you considerd 'leaf spot fungus'?, basicly the deficency could have bought it on the sick plant. The same thing happend to me, i treated for mag defficency (due to the early sighns being rusty spots) and it spred pritty bad. il try an post pics ive taken of the l.s.f in differnt stages.
