Hi all,

I thought ild post a little diary of my latest exploits. I am planning to grow one Cheesus plant in my office in a diy stealth fileing cabinet 16"x 16" x 27". I have started her already in a make do veg box made of O.S.B. with 3 x 25 Watt CFL inside. She is 17 days old and looking Wicked! (PICS SOON!)

Im using Canna Coco with the A + B Nutes and Senizym

I am trying to figure out the best way to light the Fileing cabinet. I was thinking along the lines of 1 x 125 W Enviro Red..mounted somehow..

How can I make a door in the cabinet ? Board the draws shut and make a door on the side?
Keep the draws operational and use them...somehow??

Light proofing?

Im thinking of mounting the fronts of the 2 sliding draws on a board.....empty the rest of the inside..ie.. runners etc....and make the front 2 draws detachable as a door..

Any ideas???

Peace
MM

last idea for the door sounds best smile.gif
if youre sticking with cfl i'd buy a barn type shade and fix normal bulb holders to it then use spiral house bulbs . maybe 9? you'll get much better light spread than with 1 big enviro and it'll be cheaper smile.gif what are you doing for extraction? pc fans?

try a led growpanel,do not get it of ebay if you go to chinavision they will supply just go on their site and search for grow lights do not buy the cheap panel go for the 38 watt one . If you get the same one of e bay they are 80 pound your plant will still require warmth ventilation and some white light, It does work I am still Experimenting.the light is cold so you will not get heat problems in your small space. happy times eric mann
ps
It is possibly that led (thats Light emitting diode) could be the grow technology of the future and it is nice to try different things and enjoy our hobby
If you want grow info for led s go to http://www.ledgrowlightinfo.co.uk/How%20to%20position.html

imo led lights are shit.and they are prety much all you talk about in your posts... most people on here that have tried them ended up using a normal bulb wink1.gif

L E D lights give of very little heat and are more environmentally freindly than the current enviro lights

led will be the way to go in the future for indoor cultivation. It is early days but I am afraid the argument on hps v enviro is extinct and it is now led v sodium

good growing have fun Eric Mann

Freinds of mine have been growing with led s, not bad results. The results of crop size comparisons are not yet confirmed as amount of lights and their hight ., heating and ventilation ., are a new area for experimentation,The benefits of leds are no detectable heat source, cheaper electric bills,Crop size comparisons I think favor led s in cost production comparison Quality seems ok happy growing eric

This definitely sounds like your best option mate...rip everything out that you don't need, then make it lightproof (fill in holes etc) then design a tight-fitting door and mount the fake drawer-fronts onto it.

What about ventilation, do you have a fan and filter sorted out? Do you have holes cut for venting? How stealthy does it have to be?

Looking forward to seeing pics, and will be much easier to give advice once we've seen the build.

good luck thumbsup.gif
