im putting my filter in my GB today but want the fan outside and the filter inside the GB

just wanted to ask if anyone has a set up like this? and how they went about it?

im planning on cutting a hole just big enough to fit the ducting from the filter through the GB wall and to the fan - and then ducting from the fan to the extraction point(airbrick)

a few pics would be nice

Hi,

Ok, Filter inside GB, then ducting from filter to outside of GB, into fan, ducting.

nice and easy, how long is the run of ducting going to be from filter to fan?

Not quite sure what there is to explain - your plan seems to have hit the nail on the head. The hole you make in the grow room wall will need to be made light and air tight once you have fed the ducting through it, but copious amounts of duct tape both sides should do the trick.......if that is far to untidy for you then you could purchase a couple of flanges. Cut the hole, attach a flange to either side, and then attach the ducting to the flanges.

What the f**k is a flange I hear you ask....sounds rude doesn't it.....do I want flange all over my wall..... rofl.gif .....luckily green's sell em (as do B+Q and similar)..

Flanges from Green's.

Only other tips would be to hang the fan and the filter on bungees to absord vibrations and try and keep the ducting runs as straight (and short) as possible.

How's it going tworoach.
I ended up cutting the hole in my GR slightly bigger than the ducting, connecting it all up, then using expandable foam to seal the gap.

roach didn't you say something about acoustic ducting? if so don't forget its fatter than normal ducting so your holes will have to be bigger wink1.gif

My only other suggestion is (of course) FILTER IN A BOX wacko.gif

..or one of the simpler, sensible solutions suggested rofl.gif

blushing.gif excuse me I appear to have alliterated all over your topic

Yep....it's about 2 inches bigger in diameter. I found out when putting a piece "solid" ducting on where there was once acoustic
