I'm looking for a small intake fan. I've only got a 80m x 80cm grow tent. Gave a t100 exhaust fan so there is some good extration, I just mant more circulation. Have toyed with the idea of a small omputer fan or two but don't know how to wire them to the mains.... any adive?

wire them to the wires on a 12v phone charger or something similar m8

I dunno 80m is a bit big for a computer fan tongue.gif

i use one of them ac/dc multi adapter jobs, and being adjusable it acts as a speed controler 13.gif

and i run 2 80mm case fans wired in paralel, works a treat for circulation v.gif

Is your current extract fan a TT-mixvent type?

If so I would suggest using that as your intake and upgrade your extract to a highpower 5inch RVK/HVK/RUCK. The TT-mixvents are supposed to struggle with the resistance introduced by the filter.

I'd agree with BluePixie, the best way imho is to go with negative pressure, you know, when the walls of your growtwent are being sucked in due to the sheer airflow, so invest in a larger fan. To be honest all a computer fan is going to do is block up the hole that the tent was using to pull in fresh air.

I've heard this quite alot about the mixed flow fans, yet Vents quote a PA resistance value of 135 which I thought was comparible to an RVK A model?

an RVK A model?

Which are by many accounts also a bit pussy when it comes to dealing with CF resistance (as opposed to the highpower or L versions).
I've got a 100mm RVK A and it is a bit crap.

The smaller models of RVK/Ruck-type fans, like the 100-125mm ones do seem quite ropey, especially when attaching a CF is required. wink1.gif

I would agree with ^^, tt fan is fine as an intake IMO, its what i use, but upgrade to a ruck type for extraction.
