was told earlier this week that come the first of january we will have to pay to use it

cant see it myself mate, if they did, they would have to bring the price down by a fair way, as thats how they rationalise the price of the console compared to the eggbox 360. they say it is more expensive as the price includes the playstation network for free, where as eggbox charge for their live service so their consoles are cheaper.


If anyone knows any different, please let us know coz there will be a lot of pissed off ps3 owners the world over me for 1.

Sorry to be a spoilt sport but the rumours do have some truth behind them am a sales assistant at game and it does look likely that you will have to pay to play online on the 360 just because at the moment its the only thing that holds some people back from getting a ps3 just cause the online experience is not as good as the 360 in some cases some ps3 owners cant even go online depending on were they live but I dont think it will be as soon as January its gonna be a while still I mean at the minute you can now buy psn points in the store which we havent done before fair enough it has to do with the psp go but playstation are looking into charging people for online play cause also if you add the price of a wireless adapter to the price of a 360 both the ps3 n 360 cost the same.

Also why is it that for example dirt2 on the ps3 can only be played on 720p yet on the 360 you can have it all the way up to 1080p check on the back of the boxes and you'll see what I mean

Ive always been a PS person and used to work at one of the un official mags. That would suck big style if they wanted to charge for online gaming. I'm still gonna get a 360 though just for Forza and Halo.
