As some of you know I had a load of problems wit root rot earlier this year. At the time I had started some sunflowers of for my son in the grow room which I planted in the garden once they were well under way. They did okay at first that started the wither well before there time and ended up dying of the same root rot that my plants did. I pulled them out and binned them but now all the grass near where these were planted seem t be suffering with similar symptoms and its spreading across the lawn. All the blades have yellow dead spots on - I'll try to get a picture up later. has anyone else ever heard about his happening? I would have thought grass would be able to stand up to most diseases such as this.

My main question is what should I do to combat it? I'm hoping the answer is not dig it all up and re-lay it. Do you think a heavy dose of Microbiol might do the trick? I'm not too worried about killing it off, just too lazy to have to dig it all out really.
Noway
i saw a news article recently that leatherjackets may be a problem this year,

i dont know a lot about them myself and dont even have a garden but it may be worth doing some research

get a handfull of garlic and crush it, add 4-5 pints of water, bring to the boil and gently simmer for about 20 mins. once this is done siv out the garlic and allow the water to cool down. Then pour it all over the grass. be generous with it drown the grass in it. This should work. I once had a problem with rot and this worked a treat garlic is a very very good natural fungicide.
