Hi guys, im using a 600w hps with diamond reflector, was just wondering who else is using these and what they think of them? i am finding mine is putting down some real heat! unsure.gif
how close are you getting yours to the canopy and do u blow fans across it??
Anyone got any good ideas on how to deal with the heat issues? what setups are u running with it?
i have a 1.2mx1.2x2m tent, at the mo i just have a 4inch ruck (borrowed) extracting so i leave the door open on my tent to keep it reasonable, but come payday im getting a 6inch extractor and 4inch in take. should hopefully do the job! stoned.gif unsure.gif
Any help and comments would be great as im a noob and want to learn as much as poss!
Cheers

Put a clip on fan blowing over the bulb or at it atleast, and get a 6" extractor in there asap mate you'll struggle without it the 4" just isn't pulling enough air.

cheers weedio, i have a 4 inch extracting already and had another 4 inch arrive this morn before work, do u think i should put both of them extracting for now (untill i get my 6inch next week)?
or one 4 to extract and one 4 to intake? which will be most effective?

Also do u have one of these reflectors? how close can u get to your plants with it?

Cheers again! love the support on this site it rocks!

Unless your tent has two vents at the top of the tent i'd use one as intake and out as extraction.
Have not used one mate no but read alot about them, they send the light and thus heat down soa fan blowing over the bulb or atleast over the reflector should help to sort that.

I use fans across the top of the canopy. I also found that the reflector put down lines of light, which are also putting down extra heat with it. Noticeable difference in temp when I put my hand under it. Also, if you put your hand under the light about 6" away and move from side to side, you should notice these hot lines and see the amplified light compared to the surrounding areas.
