Look out for bud rot - she's very prone to it in the latter stages of flowering!

hello bishie
what are the main signs off bud rot? got some spots on 1 plants leafs but removed them all last night. ill have to go check out some shots.
A lot of my stems have got purple tints to them in the last week or so is that the plant how it normaly is or is there another cause?
What sort off yield you get off yours?
cheers

Hi,
I grew white label doublegum which is a kind of knock off of the bubblegum alhtough i think some people on overgrow actually preferred it to the other versions. Pretty good yielder ok taste and high too, nothing too special though, we got a sativa dominant plant along with the indica ones that stretched quite a bit but was probably the best of the females we had.
peace

They are looking very nice now though stems are still a bit purple but theres lots off growth so it cant be a bad problem

arent spots on the leaves a singn that the room temp is too cold?
both my bhudah and my masterkush plants had a purple tinge to them in the end
however i only seem to nice them going purple when the temp drops, like at winter before i installed a heater

Hi I grew some Bubblegum (Serious Seeds) before. Had trouble with bud rot on my first grow but still got 6 ounce off 1 plant in NFT!
Got a similar yield from 3 smaller cuttings SCROGed in NFT.
Temps were high on that grow (over 100F with lights on), 1/2 meter squared area lit by a single 600watt HPS.
Mine took approx 55days to flower from clone and 60ish from seed.
The problem with identifying bud rot is that it occurs mostly in the middle of the fattest colas along the main stem. Checking is therefore difficult - grab a bud leaf in the cola and gently ease the bud away from the main stem. If you see moisture on the leaves/buds inside the cola then you'll most likely get problems. Check inside (if you can get a good view without ripping the bud off) if you see what looks like fine whispy spider webs inside or see brown, black or grey areas along the stem, or if you can identify a rotting veg. smell above the perfume of the crop then you have problems. When I had problems it also stopped the top of the cola ripening.
Just make sure you get plenty of airflow - especially on the dense buds and have a circulating fan running during lights off. I think I knackered mine the first time as I never had a fan running during the lights off period and the humidity was around 60% during that time, you should aim to keep humidity below 50% during flowering. Topping or similar training techniques (SCrOG - SCReen Of Green) help keep bud rot at bay by having more, slightly smaller colas.

Hey thanks for the rot info guys - Ive got 10 bubblegum seedlings - around 3 weeks into veg - Only other plants I ever had rot issues with in the past were with Sweet Tooth #3 man that was some seriously dense kholas - fingers crossed ... oh and an additional table fan in the room 24/7

Also grown her - great results from seed in a Scrog, about 3-4 Oz a plant, although I did get one hermie. Unfortunately I lost about half the crop to rot when I grew out the clones I'd taken from the Scrog ones
Apart from that, a very tasty enourmously pleasurable breed, and definately one I'd go back to in the future

I have now harvested two of my 6 girls (from a Nirvana ten pack) yield looks average (but I blame this on having just switched from a prelite/vermiculite/clay pebble growing mix to coco - so on the learning curve - lots of learning infact ) Anyhows bud development was good - as was the serious sugar coating of trichs - the other four are still pumping out flowers and could go another two weeks - im at 9 at the moment -
Due to a current backlog a smoke report will follow - after a very full cure ...
