Hello all!

So like to title says, i got soil problems.

I live in a small country, and even worse in a small town. The only place to buy soil is the the local flower shop, wich has only 1 soil type and thats "Flower Soil with clay pebbles". And thats about what they have, except some expensive orchid soil with coco, only comes in 3L sack also. Clay pebbles and Cocoa Shell Mulch

I have read about this soil in various forums, and it's not know for good results.

So the nutrients i was thinking of using is the biobizz range, grow/bloom. I also have some root-juice and thinking of getting fish-mix?

Thing is, if i understand right, the soil needs to be rich in microbiological life for the plants to be able to take up the organic nutrients?

Also, i have read, that in this soil, mycorrhiza bacteria wont survive. Since there is no clay or anything in it(could this be right). But i was thinking getting my hands on Plant Magic Essence and Granules to improve this soil, or would this be a waste of nice product?

Here is the specifications of the soil, thou i have translated this my-self, so i hope it's right smile.gif

Made of:
light sphagnum peat, dark spaghnum peat, clay pebbles, sand, Calcium oxide(lime), mineral nutrients, micronutrients

ph - 6.0
Total Nitrogen: 1900mg/l
and attached image is the amount of the different minerals and such:

Here is what i can get my hand on locally and from webshops:
Perlite
Clay Pebbles
Bat Guano
Smaller sacks of pre-mix/all-mix
Well everything sold online that isn't to heavy to ship.

Thanks in advance everyone, hoping for some answers tho i'm new here. Kinda emergency, since the soil is really the only thing im missing now smile.gif

I reckon the soil you're referring to is Plantasjen Blomjord (btw, potting soil is called "compost" in the UK wink1.gif ). It's not organic and it doesn't seem to be a good choice if you're going all out organic with inoculants and the works, but it does do the job. There are lots of grows with this compost and BioBizz nutes that come out just fine. I'm afraid that you're going to have to make your own mix if you're going to use inoculants and go 100% organic, as there's not much to choose from for people like us. If you decide to amend your compost I would mix it up and leave it to settle for a couple of weeks before using it, as such mixes have sort of settle before being ready for use, kind of like brewing.

If you have a peek at my diary, half the plants are in the compost you're referring to, and as you can see they're not too shoddy. So not to worry, this compost will work. It may not be the perfect compost, but it will do the job smile.gif Meanwhile, we can experiment with self-composed organic mixes on the side, as it's bound to be a trial-and-error thing. Best of luck with your grow smile.gif

hi mate i understand your troubles not a big choice over here too, these are values off my usuall compost that is pretty good for cannabis as i was told the other day and my plants love it http://www.uk420.com/boards/index.php?act=...t&id=348865

Your seems to have very low values/or how its called base fertilazers comparing to my compost i would keep searching for a better one ,especially if you have a posibility to order from greens.

Hi there Boblydan, You are right, it's Plantasjen Blomjord. I really want to go all organic, but it seems that it wont be the first grow. So far i was thinking mixing it with some biobizz premix and some coco. Also, soak the coco for a week or so in a deluted PM essence brew, and also add some essense to the soil when i mix inn the coco and let it sit for another week. At second grow, hopefully the chemical ferts will be used up and make a nice enviroment for fungi and such smile.gif or maybe i can get my hands on some better soil. Was also thinking making a small worm-farm smile.gif

Your plants are very nice, kinda gave me a hope on not giving up on "plantasjen" soil(shit, compost!!) yet smile.gif

Yes, your compost does indeed look better then mine by the numbers, though my german sucks, so i cant tell whats in it. smile.gif
Hopefully pre-mix will do good to my compost smile.gif
