hi guys

got 1 plant in a bucket bubbler. I might need to move it for a few hours, while a surveryor has a look over the place ... I am being ultracautious here ...

If I had to move the plant to a shed, without leccy (so no air pump) ... what is the longest I could hope for it to survive ... 8 hours ? less, more ?

cheers guys
bart
dont know how long it will stay aerated unsure.gif

if you dont wont to take any chances you could get a battery operated air pump
they do battery air pumps for fishing with live bait

hey man, dont know the exact time that the roots can go without air but from my xp in growin exotic fish and aqua plants i can tell u that:
1st bart is right, u can get air pumps that runs on bataries, they usually can go up to 12 hrs on low air flow.....
2nd u can get O (oxygen) tablets/powder (they usually sold in pet shops) and u can aply them directly into the pot or to use a big botle with a small pipe runing from the top and put into your main pot....
3rd remember that water that have been reched with air are reach with oxygen so the amount of O in the water is big enoufgh, allso its depends on the size of your pot.....

i hope i helped u a bit......................
Best of Luck man..............

other than the battery powered ones there are also solar powered ones for putting into ponds where there is no power supply. They are available cheaply from some big chains of garden centers and diy shops
OMH
It should be fine just sitting there. Its not oxygen to the roots that you need to worry about in that situation (there will be plenty), its the concern about the roots drying out in the 8 hours you need to have them moved.

If there is still water in the resevoir then that should be enough to keep things humid for a few short hours that you need to have it out of the house

good idea but not relevant couse the guy said that he going to move the herbs to a shad, and bcouse he takes extra coution i think that he dosent want solar panels on his shed roof to etract atention.......

no probs ... it's a 3 yard walk and the plants just over 12" high ...

So it seems best idea is get a nutey bucket (easy) move plant into there for the morning/afternoon, then fill the drobe with loads of dustsheets and cardboard boxes .... get survey done (it's for a freehold purchase, so it might be a walkthrough ... as I said, just being careful), then put plant back in drobe ....

cheers guys, feel a lot more relaxed now :-)
