got plans for a growbox when i get home. specs are as above. I was thinking of buying a S&P TD500 Mixvent - 150mm for extract and using my 100mm for intake. according to the website it can shift 150mm Inlet/ Outlet - Airflow 430/ 580m3/hr.

think this would be ideal?

oh yeah any ideas how to make a metre cube look inconspicuous? wardrobe is easy to have in a bedroom...cube of growing not so much rofl.gif

cheers lads n ladettes.

Outtake sounds great ,as for tube i second the Q.

You dont want to use a 600w in that space.. you could get away with 250w no problem, cooltube/star would be ideal.. you may even get a 400w in there with your 6inch extacting the 4inch cooling the light and passive intake.. but i would probally recommend the 250w + cooltube/shade..

Your extraction sounds good thumbsup.gif .. well the 4inch could be a 5inch tbh.. 4inch's are pretty naff.

eta: why dont you paint it as a doll house with lots of flowers.. hippy styla lol.gif

I'm running a 400w in a smaller space than that with 4x120mm PC fans... Temperatures 25C.

And why not?

These aren't some joke fans, they push over 100 cfm each. That's 170m3/hr. I've got 4 of em. That's about the same as a 6inch ruck.

Can't really compare to a ruck of course but they are pushing more than enough airflow. Like I say, in a smaller space with a 400w HPS and the temps are 25c. It's obviously doing the job of getting rid of the heat.

Post some picks then.. of full flowered plants.

You should not be recommending what you have setup it is a fire hazard(health issue.) thumbdown.gif

eta: i cant believe your using PC fans with a 400w, i dunno how you sleep at night pinch.gif .. havent your learned anything from since you been here, and this is basics. Its abit like running a hydro system with out waterproothing.

I wonder then mate why most of your topics are in sick plants whistling.gif

OP..Forget a 600 with the height you have, in fact a 400 is going to be a big struggle unless in a cooltube

cheers lads n ladettes.

why not just use a big wardrobe ? is there any particular reason you can't ?
you'd get a 400 in there with the right fan & filter combo. and most of the work regarding the construction is pretty much done.

have you taken a trip tonarnia? ohmy.gif
other outstanding drobe grows are available

Please explain to me how the airflow from a RUCK fan is any different from any other fan? Is it a special kind of growers fan?

I know I'm no where near as experienced as some of the people on here and I don't try and give out advice like I know what I'm talking about, it's just comment and opinion.

To have a go at my PC fans and have a nice little stab about me posting in the sick plants comments is just childish. I got 6ounces off my first grow with my CFL and PC fan setup. Not too fuckin bad was it. http://www.uk420.com/boards/index.php?act=...t&id=305134

And to say that PC fans are a fire hazard is plain ignorant too. I wonder how?

What matters is that you are getting air in and out of your box. I couldn't afford a ruck at the time but I did have lots of very high quality server fans. Like I say combined air-flow is comparable to a 6 inch ruck. Each fan is soldered to a high quality 12V supply (it's capable of 20A at 12v so it ain't a joke, cost a bomb originally but I had it lying around)

I'm about to buy myself a proper ruck and carbon filter because I've got the funds now. We all know the PROPER way of doing it but not everyone has the money and sometimes a bit of ingenuity is required and in this case the PC fans worked perfectly.

pc fans work with a carbon filter then ? or did your budget not stretch to safety first unsure.gif

No they don't but I got around it.

Anyway had enough of this, started sounding too elitist for me, we all know there is a "proper" way to things but just take a look at all the little micro grows and CFL grows. There are lots of way to grow, whether it's in a shoebox or a fully kitted out room, and not all of these grows are "proper" but they work don't they.

It's easy to criticise someone, when you have all the equipment infront of you, after years of trading/buying it. I have seen pleanty growers on here who preach about saftey, who really should not! especially when they began in similar situations, low budget wanting to get a grow on the go. Granted having not the correct equipment may put you and you're family in danger, but thats his choice not yours. but ofcoarse, anyone not using a carbron filter, 600w HID lighting, with massive fans and controller units, is sub standard and shouldn't really be growing. Forget about the poxy guy who uses a pc case to micro grow in (hes crazy and should be hung for failing in saftey) how dare he grow using cheap components or sub standard parts.

Insert sarcasm smiley ---------> HERE

I do have one doubt though maybe you could clarify, when I'm using a 400w hid, in a 1x1x2 space, I struggle to keep at 25c and thats with rvk's x 2, so how do you manage that with pc fans ?
dogzilla
It's in a basement which is always very cool, that helps smile.gif

And like I said, they aren't your normal PC fans, they are very high power and push near 170m3 each, 2 in, 2 out.

Anyway gotta move it up to the loft on the weekend so picking up a 6" ruck and rhino filter and into the tent. Got a bit of P to spend on it at the moment/
pd666
Ahh, I was just curious, I always have a hot home usually, so that prolly doesnt help. I haven't even tried it using the 1kw in the space I use now yet, due to temps.
