Hi all,

I have finally added extraction to my space but it is a big one and no room inside my growspace so I have ducting coming from out of my space, in to the fan, followed by more ducting and into the carbon filter. Would this be ok does anyone know, your comments would be great? :-)

Alot of people blow through their carbon filter mate, it does make the sleeve on the outside a bit redundant as it's supposed to stop dust etc. getting into the fan while being sucked through.
But aye, it's fine. stoned.gif

Hi again,

Thats good to hear, I thought i may have to shell out even more! Just to add I finaaly put on a 250 sunmaster and it blew the "Compact" ballast I had, have to go out and get another, damn 50 notes!

i just cut the white filter from the outside then re-cut it to fit inside the CF... plants are only three weeks old at the mo, but i have negative pressure so should be fine...
not sure why your compact ballast blew... sounds strange.

The ballast had only been in use for about 6 weeks previously, when i changed the light over, it was fine for around a few hours and then when i next checked the light had stopped and i noticed that the ballast was making a buzzing noise from the actual unit. I need to go get another as my babies really need some decent light as all they have had is 250 Blue CFL for 4 weeks:-(

any non digital ballst is going to buzz you need to check that
1 the lamp has not blown
2 power off the ballast and lamp for 15 min's then try them again you could have had a quick brown out / power interuption which would cause the ballast to hum and the light out

Hey Groovelick,

I went to the local shop and took the power pack of the ballast and the guy got it to work so he said it was my reflecter. I bought a second hand one (cost 10 notes) went home and again it did not work, went back to shop with power unit, hood and bulb and it turns out the bulb had blown:-( Got a new one now and had it on since I got back yesterday and now the babies should be getting the correct spectrum of light now :-)
