Hi there guys!

I work with some chinese supliers and while checking some prices i´ve found something that i was curious about.
The guys sell those LED growing lights. So i end up senting a nice email wink.gif asking for a sample of the item...
Got a reply today asking to confirm the adress to where they can sent the item...At no cost ph34r.gif I think i love China

http://www.prolighting.com/gr90wledgrli.html

This is the item...not the actual chinese site because i´m not that dumb spliff.gif

Does anyone has any experience and skills in growing with this kind of light?
Will it worth my money, time and precious seeds?
Is there any good info about it available somewhere?

Thx in advance

Peace
dogzilla
Check youtube. there is a comparison grow with one of these.

they do actually work but sub standard compared to hps/cfl.

Thx again Rand
For finding time for noobos like me cool.gif
I´ve found the stuff i was looking were you told me.

Btw do you have any opinion/experience with LED growing lights?

I've not grown with LEDs nor do I intend to. From all accounts they do not produce comparable growth (with HIDs), and they cost a hell of a lot. They may be useful for growing canna someday, but until prices come down and results improve, I'll stay far away. yes.gif

Sadlly after a whole day researching online im getting to the same conclusion.
Let´s see which lamp the guys sent me and if is one made with the new generation LEDs maybe i´ll give it a try.
Let´s see what the guys sent me but i´m pretty sure that i´m gonna save my seeds for better lights...maybe a clone in order to try the LST thing wink.gif

90 watts of unsuitable lighting for for $695 US ?
What do you think ?

For the thousandth time, NO.

Spend your money where it's needed - ventilation and odour control. Or have you got that organised already ?

The lighting is a doddle - thousands have tested the technology for you - HPS.

If you want to go "micro", buy some 20 watt CFLs - sometimes available for 25p each ...

Sorry compost for the same old questions... spliff.gif
Saddly HPS lamps brings me a couple of problems that i´m not ready to cope at the moment.
My house is too small and too warm for me to use HPS without having to add more fans, extractors, timers n controllers.
And my girl allready gave me a yellow card related with my DIY growing projects...if you know what i mean...
Btw i allready got 3 CFLs 26w 2700k helping my 2 envirolites 250w in the growing cabinet, what i was trying to do was to make a pretty and small set-up with one UFO light , a nice pot and a good plant from some reliable seed bank cry.gif

I was thinking of using the damn UFO thing because it´s FREE and i´m a bit too curious for my own sake ph34r.gif
But now i´m starting to think that it doesnt worth the effort.

Thx for the input

If you're already burning 250W (¿x2? unsure.gif) you might as well burn those watts with a HID lamp - they're far more efficient and will give you far better results.

In fact, if you're currently running 2 250W EnviroLights as your post suggests, you could better results from running 1 250W HPS lamp in their stead. wink1.gif

Thx for the input Scribble.
First things first...Im shite with all the technicalities related with this grow stuff.
Is all kind of new to me and the fact that english is not my 1st language doesnt help that much cool.gif
Said that i will try to explain my case and even put some questions...
I´ve built a closed growing cabinet using used&spared parts given by a mate that upgraded his set-up.
So i´ve end up with a growing space of 4ft x 2 ft. I use a double reflector with 2 enviros. Both 2700k but one 250w and the other 200w. The lights can go at a max height of just above 4ft so i need to keep my plants under that.
The major flaw of my set-up, it was the 1st one cool.gif live n learn , is that i can only acess it through a hole in the wall what makes all the set-up maintenance much more dificult.
But anyhow i´ve managed to get 2 decent crops allready and my 3rd one is on the way.

My question is , do you really think i will be better off with just one 250w HPS?
Would i get a better yield? Would my electric bills stay low? Wouldnt i need better extraction n ventilation with the HPS one?... ph34r.gif sorry for all the daft questions

Thx in advance for any reply

Peace

your leccy bills would drop mate , 450w of cfl > 250w hps
Scribb|e
As sky says, your electricity bills would be about halved. wink1.gif

Your yields would improve, and you appear to have adequate space for a HID, yes. If your ventilation is adequate for your current setup, then it should also be perfectly OK for a 250W HID. thumbsup.gif

Thx Sky...It was a bit obvious....but as i´ve said b4 in a big noobo in these things...
What about the temp? Are the 2 enviro warmer, cooler or abaout the same shite as 1 250w HPS? ph34r.gif
Scribb|e
HIDs are more efficient than Enviros, so the total heat would be less if you used a 250W HPS. wink1.gif
