for extarction
and this

IN LINE DUCT EXTRACTOR FAN HYDROPONICS 125 mm 5" only 12.99 i think

The second fan looks way too cheap, beware.

Your better of going to your local hydro and see what they can do, or try greenshorticulture online.

Take the 6" mate.
I use the same one, bought from the same dude looking at that description and it's fantastic mate.
Moves a shit load of air.

e2a: What's your intake?

mate, your best avoiding buying grow gear of ebay unless you can get someone else who isnt growing to order them for you.
its best being safe than sorry, plus ebay & paypal keep records of every transaction & will pass the info to the authorities at the drop of a pin.

also, are you getting a carbon filter ?
theyre a must have piece of equipment, because once the plant starts to stink, you & every motherfo in the area will know your growing.

¿What brand fans are they at those prices? unsure.gif

Hey cheers for all the advice,
As for brand it doesnt metion so i guess some off brand type from china, the cheap one i was just going to use as an intake? i wouldnt trust something that cheap to do all my extracting, i just cant justify 85squids on an intake RVK or ruck!

And i wanted to try the 6inch for extraction as its only 55 quidish
this is what it says on the ad

Most customers that have bought this fan, preferred it to the Systemair RVK alternative.

150 Dia. spigots to suit standard ducting.
Brand new, in box with full wiring instructions & 12 months warranty!
Up to 495m3/h airflow rate.
64 Watts power consumption at full speed.
Will handle up to 315 Pa resistance, ideal for long duct runs.
Long life ball bearing motor.
Thermally protected motor to prevent burn-out.
Free mounting bracket!
Can be mounted at any angle making installation easier.
Sound level of 46 dB(A) @ 3m distance

Is 495m3/hr Alot???? or enough anyway??
what do u think??
Cheers
Yes i am defo getting a carbon filter for sure!!
madness
i think the cheap one on there is what i have as extraction, but its not linked to a carbon filter yet and i also dont have a 600w hps

but touch wood they work fine, i know people that grow with bathroom fans as extraction and intake and dont have problems

madness

The spec, air flow, power, and resistance all correspond to a 150 RVK. You will get something like 320m3/hr from the fan when it is attached to a CF. Should be OK for a 600w light but yu should query the seller on make/model.

They are Vents VK fans sold by that chap - he has a non-ebay internet shop as-well - good prices on all things ventilation and he also stocks Rhino Filters at prices well under any hydro store.

:Hey cheers for all the reply and info guys,
good work bluepixie, do you or anyone else have any of these VENTS VK fans?? if so what are they like? any good?
noisey? Yeah i saw he had rhino filters at a good price, i might have to invest! but i dont know loads about filters, is a rhino better than a standard CF? if so in which ways?

Cheers for all the help guys really handy for a newby like myself!
PEACE! biggrin.gif
Weedio
They're inline fans, vent-axial or something like that?
The box is in the other room i'll dig it out.
The company whom sells them are amazing, i often order direct now rather than ebaying it as it's the same price and a much smaller paper trail.
GusHansen
Buy the best you can, cheap shit breaks down and is designed to break just after warrenty period.

Last thing you want a fan failure and a load of roasted plants....Growing can go easily wrong and you need to limit that by ensuring your systems are reliable.
Colemaaa
I hear you gus, and always do try to buy the best i can, but cheaper does not always mean worse, i am an engineer of sorts (complicated) and doing my job i see it all the time, and as an old hobby i have taken apart chinese made valve amps that cost a 6th of a german or american made and they have pretty much spot on the same components and sometimes better worksmanship! i dunno how they do it! doh.gif

but i agree u usually get what u pay for, i just like to do all the research i possibly can before i part with my hard earned! russian.gif
does anyone actually own one of these?? and how do u rate the quality?
Cheers peeps
PEACE

Hi JH, Just wondering why flea bay is any less safe than buying from any well known grow shop???
scraglor
they'll no doubt be fine, rvk's are overpriced, especially if bought from anything where it's marked for 'hydro' or from a growshop. got an s&p 5" vent series, for about 38 quid, and it pisses over any rvk or ruck, had it for nearly seven years and it still works fine with silky smooth bearings. are they VKM, these fans? had a 6" VKM a while back, they have EBM motors, which are top quality jap made motors, reliable as owt, used throughout industry. shift a shit load of air, and sound like a f*#*ing fighter jet pinch.gif

I don't own one so don't know the quality but see Scraglors and Weedio's comment. I've bought a fan controller of this guy a few years back and it's a very nicely made bit of kit. If I decide I need a fan upgrade that's what I'll buy. Rhino Filters (formerly PHAT) filters are a really good make, last way longer than most and normally cost a fortune from a growshop....

Purchase history lives forever with ebay and they would not hesitate to hand over to the rozzers if asked. Paypal have a habit of grassing up anything they think is dodgy too. You don't find seed vendors using paypal......

im running one of these 6" vents vk's in me middle veg tent(1m tent 400w dualspec bulb), had it over a year and its still running fine. bought it as a stopgap when mine went kapput in my xl tent, it'll struggle a little with a CF on the end of it insummer imo but i was a using passive intake unsure.gif

also got one of their 4" in me xs tent and its truly asthmatic, (cant even keep this tent in temps with just a 250 ecolite running)

Just found the 'ventsuk' website - think it's new..... the VK are plastic bodied RVK/Ruck clones, the VKM is a metal bodied version. They also do TT models (mixvent type - rubbish with carbon filters) and what looks like an Airforce type proper centrifugal fan aswell. PDF's with stats are available on the site - google it.
