American Method to Preserve you HERB!!
HI all, this way of preserving your weed i found out about Meny years ago in the days of block harvest.
I was looking for ways to keep my herb fresh for 2-3 months between harvest. there were not Meny cannabis site on the net back then but there was Ask ED High Times.So come across an article that was from the states saying how they preserved the herb because they grew alfresco.He was saying that they only got 1 harvest a year and with each plant giving 3/4 kg of dry weed he had a load @ 1 time so said they froze it but they had a way to stop mold developing while frozen.

What he said was you have to remove the oxygen then replace it with Corbon dioxide??? I thought
Then he continued it simple what you can do is get a plastic bag put weed in & SUCK all the air out (remove the oxygen)of the bag then breath back into the bag (carbon dioxide) tie a knot in the bag put in freezer.for long storage he recommended to use glass jars because the plastic gave a slight taste after a while months.
I have use this method loads of time and it works GREAT.............. PS the herb can be use straight out of the freezer TRUST me I am a stoner

I need my freezer for fish fingers, ice cream and a little trim.

I'll stick to drying, jarring, curing then enjoying. Anyways, jarring it in a cool very dark place'll keep for a year or two I've been told.

your breath is full of oxygen, not as much as fresh air obviously, but still plenty of oxygen. pure carbon dioxide (dry ice) is used for freeze drying, but it's used to actually freeze whatever it is. breathing in a bag then freezing it, is basically just the same as freezing it, frozen bud wont go moldy, same as meat wont go off in the freezer, because it's frozen, that's what freezers are for

CO2 Imparts a sour taste when used for storage purposes. And not a nice one IMO. I wouldn't use CO2 ever for sweet bud. Maybe nitrogen as it is an inert gas.

what about a vacuum

i put all my trimmings in the freezer for months they never mould cant mould its frozen

piss poor advice, arrogant sounding in the extreme while having lousy grammer and spelling skills.

ive had trim in the freezer for nearly 6 month and its stil nas green and as smelly now as it was the day it went in i just love goin in it hehe :B)

Well I think it's harsh to say that post is full of arrogance and spelling mistakes. Also that the post embarrasses you as an American. Harsh man. You don't see how that can be hurtful? Now, I know I spout plenty of hurtful stuff but usually people deserve it. This one doesn't deserve it. If they did it wouldn't be harsh but because they don't, it is. Doesn't embarrass me as a human being so I don't see why it should embarrass you as an American. I think it's an act of kindness and generosity to share what you've learned. Basically, they didn't deserve that level of response so it is harsh... but honesty is a virtue, which is the reason your post doesn't embarrass me as a human being either.

When you take the bud out of the freezer what happens? You said you can smoke it right away? Can you thaw it too? If so how do you prevent any condensation or rotting? (I'm just thinking of lettus that got too close to the freezer compartment and went to mush when it thawed) Does weed do the same? Oh, and of course the dreaded freezer burn... any comments?

Ye dont do it and do it right, dry it properly then jar it in air tight glass jars and your sorted

On the topic of the thread, I'm in agreement that air tight jars and a cure will work far better than freezing to keep bud between grows. The only time I would consider freezing is if I needed to store bud for years rather than months. I doubt I'll ever have that much bud

Err doesnt't it keep for years anyway, just make sure it's thoroughly dried then store it in kilner jars?

And yes expelled air still contains a load of oxygen only 4-5% less than it originally contained.
