How much weed do you get through and how much £££ do you spend on mj during a typical break in Amsterdam?

the last time i was there when i got back to the hotel
i emptied my pockets there must have been about 10 baggies.
i was like a kid in a sweetie shop i wanted them all.
i think i spent about 200-250 that was with 5 gramme sensi star to bring back.

shiiiit last time i was doin like,..hmnnnn 100 euro a day on scores id say.LOADS more on munchies tho,..those kebabs are just killler outside the station.....hmnnnn.

Before the exchange rate went titsup I used to spend whatever I could, but it has been stupidly expensive for at least the past 3 years. Also, if I'm there for only a couple of days it's more like 200eu a day (food, smoke and the obligatory filthy bj) whereas when I've been there for longer you tend to take it easier because there's no 'feeding frenzy'.

Since I've started growing it's much harder to spend the money in Dam just because in most cases I prefer what I grow (and I'm not just saying that to buff my own epeen, I think it's probably true for most...it's just more polarized now that you have to pay through the nose for lesser quality in Dam)

Very true GN.. GROW YOUR OWN n stay at home.....lots cheaper n better quality.

Far too much, the prices are ridiculous now I think you're lucky to get decent weed there for about 7quid a gram, most are about a tenner It's quite easy to spend 50quid a day....best not to go for too long eh!

(I usualy spend around 30/50 € a day for weed and that's beacause il like to try which is the best coffee shop, or weed, at a given time. I always try for half a gram so I can spend less. However, accordin to me, 12€ for a good sativa it's not that expensive....I also love nederhasj, especially jelly, and manali cream so...... if you guys think it's expensive try haarlem's coffee shops. Much much better deals )

If you like 0.5g joints then 6euro a spliff is pretty damn expensive to me

@KV: Yep, I love manal...or malana, the name seems to change depending on the coffe shop, I wish I could stash some whitout spending so much. For me it's the perfect sleeping pill. However, now I will have to stop smoking for a while (too much weed in to little time lately) and I really feel nervous if I do not use so.....

What disappointed me, more then the price, it's the weed quality in two of the mainstream coffeeshops: greenhouse and barney.
I have been in the dam something like six or seven times in the past three months and their grass was far from the best. I loved it how in the greenhouse the dealer was so sure to sell the best haze in amsterdam
Quality wise I have found some pretty damn good santa maria for 8€/gr.

I spend on average about 100 euros a day.

You don't have to pay through the nose to get good dopes though - The Bluebird does some top hashes for a good price. I brought back 7g of border hash last time and it cost £20. Look about eh.

BTW - Malana and Manali are two different villages in the Kulu Valley.

I was wit Bizy the last time i was in the Dam and this was in my pocket when i woke up after the 1st day...

And to my calculations is about 160 euro...not including the Damn usless seeds i got (35 euro)... only 1 out of the 5 cracked.... Damn trainwreck .......(homegrownfantaseeds)

So id say about 100 a day would be the norm ...

You spent £1000 in four days? I just cant understand that. I can see how its done, but I cant see the need for it. You just end up with pockets full of various baggies, having to sort out which ones are going in the smelly socks in the bottom of your suitcase, and which are going up in one last inferno before yer flight back !

I can have a good time on 3 gs a day, theres loads more to do in dam than sit in coffeeshops. Or is there? Maybe you'd be better off recreating the dam atmosphere in your own home...homegrown weed - £? not much...Amstel - £5 for six bottles...kebab - £4 for a good one...ropey hooker - £50 if you visit hers?

A couple of years since I've been but I used to budget for at least £1000 for a weekend trip to Dam, (including food and a cheap hotel), and always came back broke

I agree with what others have said really bout 100 euro a day (7 or 8 grams and a bit of food) and it was much easier to spend before i got to be a reasonably decent grower and before the exchange rate went to shit. Is good to try the sativas that are just too lenghty to grow at home too

I always try not to worry bout money in dam if i was strapped for cash it would not be the holiday I would choose as it is easy to spend spend spend when you can buy as much weed as you want and as more varieties than you can ever fit in your grow.

have a good trip and make sure you shop around for the better deals.

I have 10 days booked next month, I will take with me 650 euro's and probably come back with some of it left too.

I normally go for 10 days and every year its the same i come back with a few euro's left.

I smoke about 1-2 g a day plus food, drink and get through about 50 -60 euro's a day, I have a great time, very mashed, watered and feed.
and a visit to the red light distric adds about 30 -50 euro's

Hotel and flight all paid for in advance that way I dont have to think about how much I spend in case I cant pay the bill.

AMS prices have gone up along with most other cities, but if you shop around and dont mind walking a bit you can find some great weed and good prices.

It's not the weed, it's the tea's etc. in the coffeshops.
I went for 5 nights and spent over a grand between two.
Never a-fucking-gain.
Anyone who thinks they'll spend less will only run outta money imo.

Next time i'm going to rotterdam or maastricht.

I always have a a little look at the prices in the grasshopper for drinks, they make everywhere else look positively cheap

about 350/400euros for 3 days, the hotel we were in was 300 so not a lot of diff but think it will be more chilled and without the need to contantly buy coffee or drinks in the C/S . we were there last month and hoping to go sept next year

My storys the same as weedio, and no that grand didn't include travel and hotel but with all the cuppas the missus was drinkin and my cappacino plus the soup kitchen and wok and walk. We did go on Queens day though (their queens Bday) so it was like notting hill carnival minus the violence Every one in fluorecent orange and just one big party.

Next time we go, we'll been looking at renting a house boat or an appartment although you have you do it a good 6-8 months in advance but will work out cheaper when you can cook for yourself.
We didn't really lounge in the cafes to much just spent the first two days following my map (in my gallery) to find the shops i wanted to visit.
The last two days envolved sight seeing and relaxin by the canals with a PHAT J

Me an the Lady go there (together) every crimble, leave boxing day and come back new years eve, and with everything included; NICE hotel (Estherea) as it's her prezzie from me, food, munchies (frites met mayo - oooooooh yum yum), 5g bags from the CS's (a dozen or more) we visit and the flights then we're looking at around £1500+ for 4 days, however it is christmas and I am with the Lady, so who's counting it's all on plastic anyway.
All I worry about is whether my grow is ok for that long when I walk in the G/room wondering what's happened.

Easy to spend at least £100/day per person. Depends how you wanna play it.

If it's chips and mayo for lunch and your buying the white widow special offer like £25 for 5g then it's easy to get by on less.

If your picking up 1g's here and there of the expensive stuff and eating at restaurants then it's gonna rack the fuck up real quick...

Got a tip for those of you looking for hotels.... There is a place called the Dorint, it's kinda out the way being near the airport but for the money it's a very very nice hotel. It says 4star but i've been to 5stars that were shitter. It's not great if your out with the lads and want to stumble back but if you are going with your lady and don't wanna spend £200+ for something decent then it's decent if you ask me. Think they operate a shuttle to Amsterdam center or you can jump on the bus outside and take the cab back later when your fooked.

High dogzilla, take a look at the Estherea. I've done the 'Dam on a shoestring bit as well as the chips and mayo 'cos I got no money bit (still like chips an mayo when I'm walking home tho') - I used to live over Insulindeweg way 30+ years ago and anyone who lived there back then knew that it was easy to squat most (empty) places in the 'Dam. We furnished a flat on what the Dutch used to throw away on rubbish day.
If I was there with other guys for a few days or a fortnight, then it'd be somewhere like Willie Wortals B n'B over Haarlem way. Sativa's just outside the station and this is where I stayed for a week a couple of years ago, it's a 20 minute train ride into the 'Dam and Willie's has one of the best Verdampers, when I left there I put ALL my left overs into a mix and was still blitzed after the flight home and well into the next day on just ONE well tasty.
Now, I like my comfort, as does the Lady, and the Estherea is just round the corner from the BEST apple koeken shop in the multiverse and within staggering distance to and from Kadinsky

Yep, seen it and liked it.... i find the pool funny. What i really liked from those pictures is the idea that maybe, if I win teh lottery , one day I can have the same house ....

For haarlem, I tried to find something equivalent to ww but no luck in that....and it is a pity because i enjoy it very much with it's laid back style.

I used to love the turnstile for Willies, could never work it out when I was wrecked I know it's the 'Dam, however there is Basjoe's as I think they've got a place next door to the CS and their Vapes are really nice as they wash them for you before use - that's Customer Service for you, however if you want cheap n' cheerful with a lounge/CS in the basement then there's always Bob's Youth Hostel, however I'm not a 'Yooof' anymore

Check out Frog Hollow as you'll then find who's there for a 'meet n' greet' and you can let others know the where and when as well.

I reckon the best way to save money is through CouchSurfing, check it out I spent something like £300 in 10 days including all travel, food, drinking & smoking. Admitedly I did hitchhike a lot of the way, but means I get more money for weed Speaking of which I bought 10 bags back...

Got to admit I wasn't exactly flashing the cash too much but there was a group of 6 or 7 of us and plenty of weed to go round.

Back to the original point, CouchSurfing saved me loads of money plus I got to stay with local, cool people. shame I cant show you me page as it would sorta give the game away!

Personally I don't like the turnstile thing, it seems a bit impersonal and the vending machines for drinks is the same. A much friendlier place in Haarlem is Maximillian, it's been our local since we moved here despite being 3km away. The staff are awesome, prices are good, quality good and every now and again they'll hand out free taster bags of their weed of the week. Check it out when in Haarlem!

When we used to go to the dam on holiday we did both- the spending all day in the coffeeshop spending a fortune thing and the sitting in our rented apartment spending nowt and getting toasted with good tunes and a comfy couch. My GF and I spent 1800 euros in 10 days in one visit and 150 in 3 in another.

When we went for a Xmas blow out last year we only did 2nights, 100E each per day on cannabis. When i went in august I went for 4nights and spent around 80E a day on cannabis. I could easily have spend more on weed but a man has got to eat sometime. I could even have spent less on canna If I rationed it more, but who the hell would want to do that when your in Amsterdam.
