Hi guy's I too use West lands Organic Peat free Compost, now I know for the pre-growth stage we dont need to add anything to the soil. But for bloom I have some Hydrated Lime Pellets these are wicked as soon as water touches them they disperse and dissolve as the water hits them spreading the calcium , and Magnesium while adjusting the PH, I have some dried blood and bone for Nitrogen and some Bone Meal as well as pearlite and vermiculite what else do I need do you reckon. cry.gif

I recently decided to give it a try, the westlands organic veg compost. I potted up 2 DrChronic Biggie Smalls, one with the compost & 5% Bio Bizz Pre Mix mixed in and the other without the Bio Bizz Pre Mix. The one without died pretty quick but the seedling did look quite deformed. Ill have to try it again. The pot with the pre mix is doing well as u can see from the pic. That was planted on 22nd October.

Mixing them in the compost u dont need as much as normall they dispearse real well good OR IS IT pinch.gif Or sprinkle a few pellets on top if PH is out cry.gif that works well to wink.gif

yeah, i wouldn't be doing that, it'll pretty much kill any microherd you have in there. if you want to adjust ph, mix some dolomite lime with your compost a month or two before you plan to use it. hydrated lime reacts way to quickly and violently and 'shocks' the compost. plus it's highly water soluble so ph changes are only temporary.
