Its day 8 since they were put into wet seedling compost and there is no signs of life unsure.gif starting to get worried. Anyone had the same experience with bubblegummer?
Weedio
You keeping the compost moist?
How deep did you bury them?
Did you use any other method first? (ie put in glass of water or paper towels?)
highguy
Yes im keeping compost moist

They were buried 3/4 inch deep

Wet paper towels for 24hrs b4 planting

Ive only ever had the odd seed not pop, not all of them so I know what im doing is right
high and dry
sounds a bit to deep to me! i would have a poke around in the pot to try and lift them up
highguy
Thats 3 quarters of an inch, not 3 or 4 inches. Still too deep you reckon?
speedemon
patience mate is what I found works.
toastedsuppy

highguy
Im happy to be patient as long as i aint wasting my time wink.gif

i had problems with 1 of my last seeds think it was about an ich deep did not come up had to tease it out with a cocktail stick then just lightly covered it with compost it was up in less than 2 days after that!:)

I found best germination results in cup off water 48/72 hours all germ.Around 99% off seeds spourted that way .I tried with jiffy once and 3/10 came out, just made me go back to water
highguy
Ive never tried the glass of water method before because I usually get perfect results the way I do it. I'll give them another 7 days before I give up on them completely.
herbit
try and have a look , if they aint cracked pop them in a glass of water for 8 hours or until they do .
Skinny_Jimmy
i always go straight into soil, usually always works 9 times out of ten for me!
djay
I go water untill i see the seeds crack open then into soil and dont have any problems that way, those seeds your using are the same that any bubblegummer grow on here has been done with so there should be no germination problems at all.

My 6 bubblegummer all germed and emerged in 3-4 days - popped straight into seedling compo no pre-souaking or tissues..... mine go about 1cm under soil surface. Germ Temps 25-28oC

Maybe they've been cooked/frozen in transit? Otherwise just give them a few days.

Same here, popped them into root riot cubes and kept them moist, dark and warm.

Popped up this morning, got them delivered on Monday. so 4 days or so.
