Full Version: Budrot Report (uk Outdoor)
UK420 > Cultivation > Outdoor Growing > Guerrilla Growing
AustrianTokker
I've been reading through a couple outdoor grow diaries and noticed that in the past 2 weeks most of the journals are concerned and have mentioned this specific mater - Budrot
If you are reading this outloud, make sure your plants aren't hearing that. Even the thought of it makes shivers run down my spine... Yes, this fungus is very frightening and the sight of it almost feels like an elephant stempeding your crop down (maybe not that bad) but you all get the picture...

Anyway!

Wanted to start a thread, where people could post certain knowledge they aquired about strains that grow specificaly well or bad in the UK or moderate climate. First hand experience and not what companies think about their own strains!

I also imagined a sort of live report about this year and how grows are going on... for example, if people are experiencing budrot, then they can post it here. They should mention the strain, so that people won't make the same mistake and will look into a strain that is more "secure".

I hope some of you get the idea...

I will now pray for good weather! notworthy.gif

Maybe i should start....

I grew Purple Widow, Passion 1 and S. Silver Haze last year in the SE UK.

Purple Widow was the fastest and finished early october for me but wasn't mold resistant, surprisingly she had a little fungus attack but most of the yield could be saved.

Passion 1, came from cuttings and didn't finish until end of october, yeah i know, it should have finished a lot sooner but don't ask me... But no budrot!

SSH also came from cuttings and was my favorite last year! finished very early november eek.gif and guess what - no budrot!

I know this is all very much weather specific but i still believe that you can have a better chance with better genetics from the start....
Growing pakistan valley, sensi star, white berry and lemon skunk this year... so far so good! v.gif

im growing church from greenhouse seeds ..............and so far so good should finish 1st week in november wink.gif
Logic3Kid
Currently growing one Laughing Buddha plant and so far so good for me too however the rain has really kicked in this week, 3 days in a row in fact! I think the remainder of the week is supposed to be dry however ive probably lost all my trichs already with the downpore we've had lol.gif!

Should be finished early to mid November however I may be forced to chop earlier if the weather doesnt pick up!
smeagol
grew holland hope ( good rot resistance .. finished mid oct ) .. purple power .. lovely smoke ( got a bit of rot .. however was a very wet early sept last yr and they finished late sept ) .. last year

this yr i grew DP passion#1 ( finished late sept but suffered rot .. this only occurred on my north facing site .. had two out that suffered no rot so your site aspect is going to be a big factor imo .. i think a south-east facing site is best for the early sun to dry out overnite moisture ) .. and leaving the best till last .. durban poison .. grew it last yr no rot .. same this year .. love this plant .. its a pure sat and yet you can finish it in the UK cool.gif yinyang.gif
Bad Penny.
Never usually suffered budrot in the past, got some feminised HH this year and they are mould magnets rofl.gif had 19 HH and still got a good few ounces from them but wont be doing them again,in fact I wont touch them with the pole from a barge rofl.gif on the plus side they were feminised and none hermied ph34r.gif

Bad Penny.
Its Hollands Hope mate, but Smeagol had decent results unsure.gif Mine were grown on a plot with several different strains, none of the others had rot, several of the HH had budrot, that pic was taken on the 1'st of october, personal choice, wouldnt use them again, your close to me but might do brilliantly with them, maybe I had a bad batch?
Ruderalisman
I had rot on my early girl and belladonna but not in all my plots, the tree grow early girl suffered none, harvested on the 8th grown in heavy clay, other plants in 'better' soil seemed to get more rot. I have found that after removing rot and scraping away the soft stuff that smoke and ash applied from a pure spliff stop reinfection compared to simply remving the mould, I would be interested to see if anyone else finds sucess with this.
scraglor
i've got a girl still outside now, SEX from thc lab's, canadian strain, still doing fine, no signs of mold, still got a week or two to go though
Dino_NWGC
We had no mould this year on our own plants, but a little on mightie mite which was supposed to be super early finish but turned out it did not finish so early.
Maybe it is possible we did not have a good pheno in our pack.

shame to hear about the rhino I was considering giving it a go. I've heard it's good for pain relief

Bberry cutting no rot harvested 21/10, Papaya mild mould in some places, 21/10. G13 diesel no rot harvested 24/10 and Alaskan ice, mild mould 24/10.

Ruderalisman when and how did the Belladonna finish for you? I grew this ages ago indoors and it was so strong I had mates layed out in me garden wasted!! Was considering it again this year and maybe doing an F1 cross as I like the taste but if mould is a big issue I may just leave the Belladonna for indoors only.

Alrite robot chicken.we had too move them and the new spot was not the best but knew it would be safe as on my mates land.it had a high field hedge oneside and 6 foot brambles and stingers on the other so did not get too much sun at the last part of it's life.and the wind stayed in the sw most of the time so it blocked the wind and shit didn't it rain towards the end iv never known the fields to be so waterlogged where we are.

i havent been lucky enough to do an outdoor grow myself yet but i would highly recomend kc 36 by kc brains my mates was left out in very bad weather and not one bit of rot on it i have also been told that mangoo by kc brains is very bad for bud rot.

Hey robot chicken,

I did lemon skunk from ghs this year. They started flowering the latest from the bunch and didn't finish properly. Chopped them with the rest since there wasn't much point to grow them any longer, cause of bad weather and signs of budrot already developing.
Don't know much about the church, although i heard one guy complaining about the yield. unsure.gif

Yes, very tasty and overall quite satisfied. I had selected a good pheno as mother which was more productive then the others. My yield wasn't spectacular per plant (just under an oz) but i did a sort of SOG set up with a bit over 30 plants. Outcomes weren't bad biggrin.gif I also gave 2 wb cuts to friends of mine back in may/june. They both easily got over 4 oz of their wb in large pots outside. I hardly had any budrot and they had none. I recommend wb over the other strains i had going. Cheers,
