My wife has a friend that lives in one of the suburbs surrounding amsterdam and I have a friend that lives in Paris, so we were planning on going through Paris to Where her freind lives then spending a couple of nights in the Dam.

Being we're driving, can you just jump on the ferry, or do you have to pre-book tickets?

Cheers.

You need to book. Last time I drove to France, I used Norfolk line from Dover to Dunkirk (rather than Dover to Calais) - well impressed and would recommend.

Could always make it a round trip and then go back on Stena Line on the Hoek Van Holland to Harwich ferry. I pre-booked my ferry tickets but I was going on as a foot passenger.
