recently i decided to rebuild my little gro cab ,after all ive been using it in its present form for at least 15 years and needed a tidy up (it was really slung together quickly all those years ago ) but being the ever cheapskate that i am when it comes to growing i thought id have a look around at home meade carbon filters ..oh man theres some great designs online including here but then i stumbled on an american site where people were using cat litter instead of activated charcoal in their diy filters and according to them they worked really really well ,odour neutralising filters ..anyway i was down at wilkinsons this morning and lo and behold in the pet section they had all manner of odour control litter for cat trays ..so i read all the bags and settle on one that promises active odour control ..well i think it ma work ..im making a filter like a can filter but then it hit me ..i can put this stuff in the grow cab on a tray under the plants as well ..for when i cant run the exhaust fan (dont want my kid knowing just yet and hes gotten nosy ..so if theres no fan noise when hes indoors he wont notice )
has anyone else tried cat litter as odour control ? its a clean medium to work with too and as of right now the white widow cutting that stank my greenhouse out cannot be smelt anywhere in my house ...oh and at £2.50 for 8kgs it woint matter if i have to replace it every month either
