I went in August, first time.

Pretty much all of it was a nice smoke. Just go to any cafe and buy whatever you like the sound of, the menus have descriptions of each type of herb. I guarantee you'll get stoned.

Also hit up the Amstel beer anywhere they have it on draught, it's lovely.

Try some blueberry from Mellow Yellow. Induced the biggest whitey I've ever seen to a mate of mine I was OK on it but he don't smoke much. Think it's a number 2,5 or twenty something tram, goes down thru' Leidsplein. Keep looking to your left & you'll see the place. It's painted yellow. Get off when you get to the small circular park & retrace the route back a couple of hundred yards. Convince them you're nowt to do with the law & fill your boots Mind you with the £ @ the moment you can spend some serious cash. To save a few bob I always buy those 2 day tickets, easier & cheaper.
For the best meat, especially steak, you'll ever have, try the Cafe de Kloss on the same route. Get off at Leidsplein & walk over two, I think, canals & it's on a street on your left. Place looks an absolute shithole from the outside but you will not be disapointed. There's even a boozer opposite,
