I am helping a friend set up a small grow cupboard, first off I will give you the details of the room, its 50cm wide, 90cm deep and over 6ft tall, he will be using a 250W hps with a 4" inch Fan and CF, the aim is to have a shelf 8" off the floor acting as a light trap at the bottom of the cupboard, a large grill covering the bottom of the door will allow air to be pulled through, the extraction is going to be venting to a different room and will be extracting through a modified euro reflector to the fan then blown through a CF ( I know this works ok as I have used this method twice with no probs ) We are looking at doing a modular scrog with 2 plants purely so they can get taken out the cupboard to be trained it also allows then to be turned so all buds develop properly ( in thoery anyway ).

Ok thats the room now heres our problem, he wants to do some form of Northern Lights or a hybrid using it. The other plant he wants to grow will be some form of cheese. Can anyone recommend something with Northern Lights in and do you reckon it will do ok in the room above in a scrog. With regards to the cheese I was thinking of Big Budda Blue Cheese which I have read a few times is good, because he is only buying a couple of seeds ideally we want something which is stable with ideally little variation between pheno's.

With regards to yield I have said to him to expect about 4-5 ounces on his first grow based on what I achieved with a scrog net twice the size but with two 250W's instead of one. Do you think this is realistic with these strains as I grew GHSC Great White Shark which has tight compact buds so although it looked small weighed alot more than I expected, I am starting to worry now that I may have been a bit optimistic.

The other problem he has that I dont is mould, 6 mths after he bought his flat the roof started leaking (flat roofed and he is topfloor) He has stripped all of the ceilings back and has dried them out but still uses a dehumidifier a couple of times a week to keep damp at bay, is this damp going to increase the chances of budrot? is the dehumidifier going to cause problems? (its in a different room to intake). He will be extracting to a room with the window open 24hrs a day to avoid adding to his damp problem.

ez now geez , as long as you get your enviro sorted in your room i would imagin
it wont matter bout the damp prob in your friends house , your room is a controlled
enviroment were as your friend is tryin to control wha`s gwanin in his house , i think he
will be fine as for strain , i`d say barney`s or buddha`s fem think it suits
your mates needs as for nl , i aint had any experiance in growin 1 so cant help you there

thanks for replying it seems mold shouldnt be much of an issue then. You are right about the scrog method normally being fixed but I found a diary on another forum where the guy made small scrog screens a little larger than the tops of the pots which are then attached to the pots, I have seen a diary on here since then doing pretty much the same thing. The orginal diary I saw the guy was doing it so he could grow scrog style perpetually, he was also growing from seed numerous different strains so it allows him to put stuff under a plant pot to get it closer to the light should one strain stretch more in flower than the others.
