(taking resin off stems) is easy all you do! first of all KEEP them stems (dry them) find a plastic box with lid cut stems to fit in the box 4 to 6 inch long normal works Put stems in the box close and pop in the freezer for 12h next day shake the box for 5-10 min the longer the better. Open the box and see all the resin that has collected. ENJOY Resin you would have threw away.I don't know if any one else does this. stem shake ,good stuff

Do you reckon if you broke the stems up and did an ice hash run it would extract any THC?

There is no THC in stems,only on the buds.

You may get that odd bit that has stuck to the sides of the stem after falling from buds, but really not worth the effort.

The THC will be negligable. Only benefit you may get is mixing it with shitty hash to make it taste better

there is thc on the stems of a silver haze clone only ive got. its got so much resin it has it all down the stems including the main one quit a lot of the time especially if there are bud sites near by.
heres pic of one clone i got it cropped an zoomed in on one of the stems for you, this one doesnt have it all the way up the main stem untill it gets nearer the top but the rest of the stalks an stems are coated in trichomes

No the resin is in the tric's on the outside not on the inside

Why dont you freeze the stem's like you say then pour some isoprop in the container and swish them about then remove the stem's and let the isop evaporate off

Sorry if this is just out of interest how can you grow UK Cheese from seed groovelick because I know no other growers so I don't have any chance of getting a clone and I would love to try this legendary strain.

Some strains and grows have more resin on the stems than others and it's worth while getting it off rather than throwing them eh?

Shaking them frozen in a tub will get some off but will smash up loads more and smear them to the stems.

If you oil, bubble or dry sift your trim just bung the stalks in with it or do a separate run with just the stems to see what happens. That's the most economical way of doing it to get every last trich.

You can't grow the original from seed 'cos as far as I know, nobody has stabilised it yet. As to whether you get very close, better, or worse is down to you, what you are using, your knowledge, your selections and as always the numbers.

I have an idea (don't get them too often so bare with me please)

If the tricomes are only on the outside of the plant maybe it would be worth while peeling off the outer layer of the stem with something like a vegetable peeler (for carrots and potatos and whatnot). If you scrape it off while its fresh you can throw it in with your other bubble bag cuttings right away, or you could let it dry and do stuff with it then. I know I get sticky hands handeling stems so its worth a try... I'll give it a go myself and let you all know how it goes in a week.
