and to answer the question Burton there is a house near the airbrick but there are no windows nearthe airbrick itself but the frontdoor is about 25ft below the airbrick on a busy road with plenty of buses and cars creating noise and a breeze im not bothered tbh mate....as long as the fan does its job its all good.

tell ya what i was gutted when i had to leave my old loft when we moved house,.that fucker was mint n arf honest.not as perma-built as yours but just perfect for a 1000 watt if wanted and prob 10 to 12 plants with breathing room.

you have far and away excelled what you could have achieved with a chopped tent, I'm certain of that. Few grows in that to tweak your environment and fine tune and I reckon you'll have years of successful growing to come

I know it's nerve-wracking waiting for them to pop but if you give them time they should appear

Oh yeah those straps are for holding the sleeve onto the filter I believe and are utterly useless, especially if you use bungee cord or similar to hold up your filter anyway

Does the sleeve even need to be held on?

I really wudn't worry about hot air coming out the vent. Even if the budgies did spot it, its only hot air coming outta a house. The choppers maybe able to spot heat but they can't see thru walls, cud be anything the other side, a bathroom, loft conversion, sex attic.

Hiya Tworoach, amazing work so far.

I'm thinking you may have to silence that fan a bit if you have a loft conversion next door.
They get really noisy, especially so in a roof space, wire her up and see.

That is looking better with every update you do fella. Like mentiras says, you may have to box up the fan and hang it on bungees. I know my small veg room acts as a BOOM Box with the slightest vibration and can be heard in the bedroom if you are directly underneath it. is the best way to go

ive have had the fan on and the noise was ok tbh a slight "hum" and as u can imagine im fecking sick of building things now

ive doubled the insulation on the roof of the box and that should be fine while i have a 400w....wont know for sure till i get some temp tests done...probably get the light and filter on for 18 hrs tomorrow and take some temp and humidity readings done

If the fan does annoy you, wrap the fan in rockwool roof insulation with several layers using giant cable ties it works wonders.

Hey i finally got the chance to check out the treehouse, just read all the way through. Good show man, youve made me realise what decorating caulk is for . i could do with using some of that! And i never even thought about using BNQ insulation stuff for a grow, thats a brilliant idea ill be copying

On the note of the extraction. If you were ever seriously paranoid about the heat escaping and being flur visable then i would recomend the following.

Rig the end of the extraction ducting to several 1ft lengths of hose pipe, cluster them in the end of the ducting and seal them in there with as much poking out as securably possible.
Put the end of the ducting/now hose into a tank of water. If you seal the tank up leaving an air vent covered with a coffee filter, you will end up with a tank of usable water out of it aswell

If you could ever be arsed that is, i considered doing this but im goin to build a shed ontop of my airbricks in the spring so wont need to worry about it.

Remember if it looks too simple, over-engineer the fuck out of it and glue a whistle to a coke can and find an elabourate way of attaching a clockwork mechanism. hmm im deffo stoned...

That said im working out a way to make a clockwork timed irrigation system for my greenhouse. Idea being wind it up and have a clockwork timed valve open and shut at intervals. so far ive learned alot about clocks... saw a valve for a hydrokit thats prettymuch set me on the path im going to go down.

or just making a diy box like yourself. As I am new to this It can be daunting. I don’t know f any 1 has one has used a g tool can b4? They come flat packed unlike most. But the cost is high and making 1 myself will be a hell of a lot cheaper.

but after seeing your build it has motivate me to get my finger out and start on it asap.

I have boarded the loft out but there are sum supports in the way which is restricting the room. I have showed the . loft to my friends dad who is a architect stroke engineer. He said the 2 cross looking style supports on each end can be removed but I will have to put 2double up trusts on both sided imbedded in the wall for it to happen. My friend who is a carpenter said he can help me with this as he does these kind of things all the time.I know help me make a box in no time but I don want to tell him what my plans are.

Mate im very happy i built a box instead of getting a tent - with the cold temps outside the treehouse i have no doubt in my mind whatsoever that had i got a tent the temps wouldve killed anything i tried to grow up there no probs.

so build an insulated box is my advice for ANY loft growers with an uninsulated loft space.

i had lights off in early veg and temps inside the box only dropped by 11c during the lights off period (without a heater too) so that says it all about how well it keeps the heat once its warmed up. yeah mate no brainer - build a box
