Full Version: Is This Mg Or Calcium Def?

Hi dudes,

I'm coming up to 5 weeks in flower. I have 4 plants, 3 are fine but one has a few sick looking leaves. There aren't loads and they are on the upper end of the plant, so I ruled out it being N def. I've tried to look at the guide, but can't find an exact match. Looks closest to Mg and Ca, but I'm not sure.

Any diagnosis and remedy would be much appreciated...

Cheers Foobs.

Doesn't look like Mg deff to me
Arbuscule
Nor me - there's no paling between the veins (interveinal chlorosis) nea.gif so unlikely to be mg def. Never seen calcium def sorry so dunno about that unsure.gif

Ok no worries, no idea what it is then as those were the two that looked the closest!

I'll just see what happens in the next few days, least it means I don't need to go and buy Epsom Salts!

I've had leaves look a bit like that when I have been underfeeding by a little

Was that leaf near a fan, vent or other steady breeze/draught??
It looks a tad wind-scorched to me, perhaps.

It would be better to show us a shot of the whole plant and give us some more info about feeding practices etc etc. Hard to make a real judgement on only one leaf wink1.gif

Hi guys, thanks for the replies..

It is possible it could be being underfed, although my EC is at 1.0 and if I go any higher say 1.1 then by the next morning it is 1.2, so I've been setting it at 1.0 and it never drops below, so I figured they were happy.

I do have some clips fans, but the affected leaves are at the ack of the tent and not in direct fire, those that are look fine.

Feed 3 times a day for 15 mins: Just before lights on, 6 hours in and half an hour before lights off.

Looks like calcium to me but I've only seen it like that in pics. The little brown dead spots give it away, looks a bit like lsf but isn't.

What's the ec of your water? If it's low you may need to add extra cal or mag at some point or get a specific food for soft water. Canna do an expensive but very handy bottle of straight clacium solution apart from that I wouldn't know how to fix it.

I don't know much about hydro but maybe if you've time you could set the ec a point higher and adjust it down each morning just to see how they react.

Wait for somone who knows hydro though, I just had my breakfast vapour bag spliff.gif

No Hydro skills here.
But I would certainly spray with Innoculants now. That leaf has rusty-spots on it, if my eyes are working OK. Deffo worth an Innoculant spray.
