hello everyone i'm after a bit of help. i got blue cheese plants coming on nicely now, i'm not experienced so wouldn't like to say how much longer they got but i'm guessing it's going to be the end of october (certainly in the last 2 weeks of oct anyway) if not later. i really don't think our uk climate is going to be kind to the plants if they are still going in november tho.

i've got some plastic given to me but i really don't know if i can use it or not. it's not clear plastic its translucent and is ridged. can i use it to construct a sort or greenhouse to protect from mould and frost, rain and wind etc to leave them for a few extra weeks? i don't really know how else to describe this plastic, i don't know if it is usually used for growing under or what.
does this stuff sound familiar to anyone? do you think i could use it or would it filter out the light and stop the plants getting the light?
i can take a pic of it next week and show you all, but have no pic yet. many thanks for reading, janet

i reckon its ok cos its not totally dark and some light passes through it, but i reckon the plastic has to be better than evil end oct/ early nov weather

make sure it get plenty of air flow through it, or ir might make the chances of mold MORE likely!

yeah will get plenty of air flow, don't want the humidity through the roof. maybe we cud construct a frame from some wood and just have a roof and maybe one side panel and leave the rest open. really not sure how to do it exactly but will have to see when actually making it. knowing me i'll probably have the roof collapse and crush the poor plants sad.gif

I think i know the plastic you mean, is it bluish? it might be UV filtered! in which case not much use, i got some plants in my own garden under a mossi net inside a white gazzebo, they seem to like it ok. hope this helps i think the next two or three weeks is gonna be a long time going!
