anyone know how a 400w diamond light compares to a standard 400 shade in the real world? says on greens site that they are noticably better but does that mean more bud in the grow room?

anyone recommend one for use in a dr80?

I was gonna buy one of the diamod reflectors but read a few articles that persuaded me to get the grostar parabolic reflector, quite pricey but very good once the correct height was acheived

yeah i do like the look of them but they're just a bit too pricey sad.gif i can pick up a 400 off a mate for 30-40 quid so the diamond one is already a big jump up.

Spend less get less spend more get more imo i have owned a diamond and it was much better than any barn type reflector and will indeed increase yield over most reflectors although they do tend to push all the heat of the bulb downwards towards the plant tops so watch out for light bleaching.

having said that there not a patch on a parabolic reflector which again costs way more than these diamonds but again they porduce much more bud due to the light spread.

yeah pricey, but if it increases the yeild it pays for itself i guess. Can anyone tell me how to start my own topic, cheers
C'est la vie
diamonds are great, i got 2, but as djay says they do tend to push the heat down so its hard to get them close to the plants.

I've got one from greens dont rate it at all, I can get a 1000w in a parabolic a good 6 inch closer than a 600w in a diamond.

My temps actually dropped when I swapped from a diamond to parabolic yet I increased from 600w to 1000w the things are just too much hassle and push far far too much heat down.

I do use it now with a 600w in 1m2 tent and my temps are 4C higther in the diamond tent than the para which is 1kw in 1.2m2 but when greens have the para in stock again I'm upgrading.

Ermm, new topic button at the the bottom, can I have some of the cheese you're smoking please!!

i'll forget the diamond then , no point in having more light for the plants if it needs to be further away as that defeats the object lol.gif

do you reckon a 600 would be ok in a dr80 if a para shade was used? how much are they?
C'est la vie
a parabolic wont fit inside a DR80 mate, i got the same tent stoned.gif
JGP
would a para reflector fit in 1m square tent?

standard shade it is then lol.gif

what do you reckon to the dr80? what fan/filter and light do you use? yeild?

cheers smile.gif

it would fit but only just, i can measure mine when lights on and let you know, but they are roughly 1m2
sky
wont fit a dr80 then , 200mm too big
Tutu
Mine only just fits comfortably in a 1.2m tent it would be very tight in 1m2 tent and airflow would be severely restricted.

Parabolic's they're the best thing ever mine was only £60 which is exactly what the diamond was (600w version) the mini grostars are more expensive but never read a review from a person who said it wasn't the best reflector they'd used (I think they're discontinued).

Greens sell them but out stock till new year.
