Hey guys.

I've got about 20 plants which won't finish outdoors this year, I'm gonna have to chop them before the mould gets to them but the odds are they will not be finished.

I'm going to make some ice hash with all of these bitches. Can someone tell me what the best part of the plant is to use if the buds aren't formed? I'm assuming I'm gonna go with any parts of the plant with pistils and preflowers but is there any other parts I should use? i.e. stems?

I can't really put the whole plant in the bucket with the ice because there's lots of them and they're all over 6 ft tall.

Peace

WAIT! you never know, might get better, if not will be more for hash at least!

Just cut all the big leafs off then the small buds and you could save the stems to bho as there is normally loads of thc on them. Even if you can see any crystal on them throw them in anyway are is always stuff on there you cant see.

And dont give up on them yet still got another month of growing if the weather holds out :]

Shit yea guys um probably should've made it clear that I am gonna leave 'em for as long as i can get away with before they're mouldy, may chop early Nov. Although I had heard that when making ice hash mould doesn't matter? Although I can imagine the mould kills the plant?

So what part of the plant can I be using? Should I use the huge fan leaves? BHO seems quite complicated to make for a first time and ice hash seems so easy!

you dont wanna use the fan leaves

basically any buds you want to use and any sugary trim

BHO is pretty easy, alot less work than ice hash. Make sure you do this outside.

I used a metal cocktail shaker last week, drilled a 2mm hole in bottom of shaker(for the gas nozzle), put the buds/leaf in 3/4 full, put the lid on (as the lid has already got holes, that stops the buds coming out and the oil/gas run out)

Wrap a towel around the shaker (as it gets icecold) Put your nozzle in the hole and spray it into a pyrex boil, you will see the oil/liquid pour out into the bowl... Now let it evaporate and enjoy!

Used about 1 can of london gas per half pint bud/trim.

Lovely it was too stoned.gif

Yea but 1 can of gas for half a pint of trim, I have shit loads of weed that would take many many cans of gas to process, 10 bags of ice is cheaper.

e2a. Am I misguided thinking that it would be possible to make ice hash then BHO the remains?

Nahh use the fan leafs even if you cant see anything on them. I guarantee there is something on them

I read a report where they iced it first then dried it again then BHO! he got a good ball!
SkullDuggery
ok then i personally wouldn't use fan leaves

my rule of thumb is use anything with visible trichs on it, adding fan leaves just creates more work for very little extra yield

if anything you'll get more plant matter and a less pure end product

Surely only if it goes through the filter? Which it shouldn't do as long as I get a small enough one.
SkullDuggery
even with bubble bags you can get plant matter passing thru if your too vigorous when working it

i've had it when using a drill/mixer which is why i stir by hand now

1st time with the drill is ok if you don't go mad with the mixing. I have an attachment like a plastic paddle that works well, I can get two good runs when I use it. When it comes to mixing trim for bubble I have discovered that sharp is bad, blunt is good. You still have to mix it.

Wooden spoon in the drill set at a slowish speed produced my best ever results.
I tried an improvised spud masher in the drill and I ended up with seaweed up the walls and not much chance of any hash.
