right ive been thinking of trying dirt for a long time now as i have bin growing nft for many years with very good results but
im starting to think quality rather than quantity. i have been reading all the threads on soil growing on this site and many of
you have had some very good results, but you all seem to do it in different ways, i dont want to mix spells and potions like some do i just want to grow pot. So my question is this are all the different bottles they tell you to buy in books and the grow shops realy needed or are we all been brain washed in to thinking we need them. give me an NFT tray and i can grow anything just about but the more i read about mud the more confused i become, its like learning to walk all over again
many of you realy now your stuff on this site so your input to me and i suspect many others would be very apresiated
Thank you

Thank you Weedmonsta i mist that thred very helpful, But do we still need to buy all the biobizz nutes for best results or is it all hype
Putrid
IMO bio-bizz is about the best and cheapest organic liquid feed on the market. i use Grow,Bloom and fish-mix no need for any other products they sell.

bio-bizz light-mix, all-mix and plagron light-mix are 3 good composts too...

E2A- when using compost don't feed until the 1st week in flower as there is enough food already in the compost when you pot up.
Scribb|e
All you need is some Grow and Bloom, possibly some Epsom Salts if needed (they're dirt cheap anyway) and some Seedling Compost (or some Perlite to mix with the MP to dilute it for cuts etc..).

You don't "Need" much at all. In my opinion these are the essentials: Good "All Purpose" compost, Fishmix, water.
Anything else is just luxury. Nice, but not needed wink1.gif

Arney what do use for bloom or can you just get away with fish mix?

I have done scribbles method with proven results

Me too mate.
Then I did a grow using nowt but Fshmix, and it pissed all o'er the usual "Grow & Bloom" harvests; taste and smell were superb and probably improved compared to using "G & B", potency was unchanged, and excellent, as was yield. Overall Fishmix gave healkthier blooming plants, and I did not need any Epsom either (during that grow).
I concluded that Fishmix is far superior to the usual G & B approach. Cheaper, too.
If I return to using BioBizz products, I will only be buying Fishmix. IMO, anything else is fine, but not needed and rather pricey.

The topic really wanted to know what was "Needed".
I dont think anything is, barring (as said) fishmix and water wink1.gif

Other things no doubt work well, produce fine results etc etc. But they are not needed.
DanKu
i use Grow an Bloom, but after reading arnies thread/post a while back about just using fishmix ive done that with not much difference, probs better taste actually, could be more patience curing tho.
and my bro is growin in his greenhouse an was gonna use tomato feed but i give him a bottle of fish mix an said just use that at 1ml per litre and up it if the look hungry, he's not used anymore an ive never seen plants so healthy, he's never grown before so was very suprised how green n lush the looked, he was only doin it for abit of fun, but has 2 monster plants he loves now rofl.gif

so after ive used all my grow n bloom, fishmix only for me as far as biobizz goes, lasts ages an dunt cost as much as gettin the others, does stink like rofl.gif

dan

e2a: here some pics, the further on in flower now but still just as healthy, his tomies not lookin so good tho rofl.gif

Aaah, cheers for clearing that up mate in quite possibly the fastest time ever! Have a gold medal! wink.gif
I was wondering if you were talking about the fishmix thing.

Basically i want to do it, is the consesus to use only fishmix as the nutrient feed or to use bloom too?
I wanna get this right!
Scribb|e
It would appear to be using just Fishmix. wink1.gif

First thank you all for replieing this is helping no end and i am starting to understand a bit more now, so my next Q is they all make some sort of bloom boost and all claim to give you bigger buds. Do you not use them because you do not need them and the manerfacturers are all full of shite or is it because of tast and quality of smoke, wot i realy want to know is if you wher growing for the biggest buds you can get and not so mutch on quality would any of the boosts work in soil, we no in hydro many of them do make a difrense, All you top growers who i have much respect for do grow dairy`s and some of the time us mear mortals cant read between the lines not to offend but do you now what i mean it is not always clear to us in what you are doing..... thank you all for your wisdom and words

Good thread for us organic heads.

I've got a BB Chiesil and BB Bubblecheese going head to head in my liccle Enviro persy grow. They're just about to reach 4 weeks flower and I've never had such healthy, manageable plants.

Only fed them at the end of week 3 with 1ml Fishmix, and 3ml Bloom per litre. Growing using batmix, which is great - overpriced but worth it if you can afford it. Might give em a little epsoms next feed.

Last grow using same method gave a moderate yield from BB Blue Cheese and Barneys Phat Fruity, but the finest, purest tasting weed I've ever smoked. The smell is incredible too.

The old addage is correct, quality over quantity when it comes to the herb - everytime.

NFT feels a little like a "grow machine" to me, I prefer the hands on nurturing of organics. Feel much more involved and in tune with your girls.

But anyway, back to the thread - for the finest weed, all you need is pots, a good soil, Bio Bizz Fish Mix, Bio Bizz Bloom and a little epsoms.

I have used all kinds of boosters and accelerators in the past and have experienced no change in yield. All it does is impair the flavour and the way it burns. Absolute waste of money in my experience.
Weedio
So you reckon ya need bloom Sam?
Matsi only uses fishmix and has got buds the size of skyscrapers!
Do you find your plants are hungry for more bloom nutes when using only fishmix?

Cant say they need it, because I have not tried without. But I've had great results with my system. I work on the advice given by Oldtimer1. He's a grumpy old sod but he knows how to grow wink.gif

Click Here For Oldtimer1's Feed Schedule

There is absolutely no reason why a grow with Batmix Soil and Fixmix wouldn't give great results. The less chemicals / flavours you throw at your plant the better in my opinion. Will try with just Fishmix next grow.
Weedio
Yeah i used that too.
I just thought that fishmix was more balanced and therefore a complete feed? (Ie seed to harvest?)
Whereas Grow and Bloom have NPK's that are heavy in one thing and not in another?
SCARAB
This is getting good, if you can do a grow with only fish mix it must have every thing in it then i.e. all the right quan`t of NPK and if the plants stay in good health trace elements to, so is fish mix the same as grow only from a different sorse, so if used together would you be over feeding
Weedio
The way i've understood it, and i may be wrong, fishmix just simply has it in a more usable form to the plant, it uptakes it much quicker and it also provides food for the microflaura to go nuts on thus making it even faster.
Matsi's plants look awesome man and he's feeding only fishmix!
FARMER G
regardless of what is used a good enviroment is what is needed for a sucsessfull harvest .
if the enviro is not right no bud boost/additives will give you what we want , big buddage !
i use bio grow and bloom also use topmax , now i no peeps on ere dont like but it works
for me , without it my yield is always down slightly but usin it i hit what i more or less expect
will be usin fish mix on the next run do see the diff between the two , also there`s bio heaven
have`nt used this product yet but i hear its good stuff ,
as arnie said in an earlier post you dont need all these products but usin them can have a
posotive affect on your grow but maybe not for all of us , im sure your get enough info on ere to
sort it out and no what you want , all the best geezer

Se this is what i am talking about some say no dont use it all its bad and some say use it all it makes a diferance, MMMMM
I`M LOST do we realy need all the bumff or are they messing with our heads making us think we cant grow whith out it all
FARMER G
what ever suits you best fella , you might not need anythin else other than fish mix
but as you do further grows with soil you will try diff feeds out that might make a massive improvement
or they might not , if someone says this works and another says no this way works they both
might not work for you , its the same as when yoyu were doin hydro , bet you got better results
usin a certain method than another , you found the way for you , its the same with soil , in my
eyes there aint really a right way or wrong way to grow canna , just your way wink.gif i`d start
off usin ot1`s guide as a startin point then after that start to do a couple plants on a diff schedule
to see if it makes the diff , i hope this ramble helps , all the best geezer

You only *need* Biobizz grow, bloom and a little epsom salts and OT1's feed guide.
That's it.
Topmax has been shown to ruin the taste of buds and also make them not burn so well in quite a few comparison grows.

I, however, am going to switch to just fishmix as alot of growers are having astounding results, results i can see is grows i'm watching, y'see?
It's upto you mate, keep an eye on what people are doing and if you see something that makes you think "healthy!" then find out how they're doing it.

I'm simply interested in using one bottle of nutes and maybe a little epsom salts and getting better tasting, simpler and thus better, bud.
It's all about quality, not quantity.
SCARAB
yes it dose FarmerG thank you, whot i am trying to get from you all is all nute companies and books say you need all diferant trace elements and this that and the other and plants need them to grow to there full protential weather your growing weed, cucumbers, toms or carrots all the books, T.V. programs, videos they all say you need all thes elaments to grow well..... then along came OT`1 and turnd it all on its head, if OT1 can grow pot like he dose with hardly any thing going in and may i say outstanding buds coming out, are what we have been told through the years crap. you can still see them on gardeners world putting crocks in the bottom of pots for good drainage but many people now say its bad to do this as it compacts the soil around it having the opersit afect. in many ways in life we have bean brain washed in to thinking we need something when we realy dont, i dont no what to beleave any more, take advansed nutriants, if we used all the stuff they recomended their would`t be room for the plant in the pot with all that lot
and yes i am mashed... hope i make sense
yayaya

AGREED!!!!

i too will be just useing fish mix on my next grow

just 1 question. . . Are we talking about bio-bizz fish mix here or is there another or is Arny making his own fish mix cheers guys thumbsup.gif

Arnold Layne
When I flowered using only Fishmix, it was the BioBizz fishmix I used.
I am currently testing Plant Magic's standard nute range. Its not organic, but it is made in the UK and is made, I gather, using as near dammit organic ingredients. It is too earky to say much except that yield is up.
But I imagine I will return to Fishmix if the taste and aroma are not up to scratch. However, I am a few days to a week away from harvest yet the aroma now is magnificent!
