Heya folks biggrin.gif

You are far smarter than I...what's my problem?

(Scroll to the bottom to see the crabby plants)

http://www.uk420.com/boards/index.php?show...p;#entry1934959

It seems to be happening to the biggest plants first (they're a few days ahead of the others, so I imagine that's why)

S.O.S!!

Thanks much much much

Doesn't really look like anything much to me - no nute woes seem apparent. wink1.gif

Logik
does not look like lack of Nitrogen at all.

The yellowing doesn't show up on the camera very well. It's only ever so slight, and that's not really the concern. You wouldn't really notice it as a yellow set of leaves -except the whole upper part is so lush and green

What is the concern is the "rotting" between veins of the lower leaves. It's very small, and quite hard to see through the camera...but there's definitely something happening there that shouldn't be.
It's progressively getting worse. Fortunately it's on a small scale as of now, and the upper growth is just beautiful. Plus it's only a couple of the plants.

Unsettling

I'll try taking a better pic so ya'll can see what I'm talking about.

It's not nothing, I'm just spotting it early. As you can see it's progressing. It's going to continue to get worse and worse until the problem is solved.
Someone help me!

sad.gif

It's starting to become more prominent in each of the 5 plants. It started w/ the two that were first to sprout (makes sense). Now they all have a degree of this going on.

The low leaves are fairly brittle and "semi-dried out feeling/looking".
Something is wrong!

hows the humidity in there bud ??? i always get low humidity to start off generally ending up with some fried tips etc

peppi smoke.gif
Jasper
Humidity sits between 30-40%
So a bit low.

I don't think it'd be so localized like it is though just from low humidity. It's possible though.

I wish I understood more about this plant!

I think that you started them off in pots that are to big and your medium has gone anearobic and soggy. Make sure they get proper dry before watering again. Who makes the compost (Black Gold)? - I would imagine it's got some nutes in so feeding is probably not the answer. A decent wet/dry cycle might be.
Mr. Sparkle
Good Morning Jasper

I'm no expert mate but I don't think your plants look too bad thumbsup.gif

The pics of the 'wrinkly' leaves look a little like something that was happening to mine a fortnight or so ago. What really caught my attention was your written description, it sound awfully familiar sad.gif

Maybe have a look at some of the pics from When my plants were crap g.gif I was convinced I had some sort of rot or fungal thing in early stages. As it turned out it may have been some sort of nute deficiency.

Regardless of what it was Essence and the other plantmagic products I'm using has had a really positive effect thumbsup.gif My girls have gone nuts now, a beautiful rich green and not a blemish on them cool.gif Im sure the bio-silicon has had an effect as well. They had strong stems and branches from training since planting but they are ridiculous now lol.gif I was culling males middle of last week and one of them broke my wilki-sword heavy duty pruning scissors shock.gif I just stood there looking at them and back at the plant, that seemed to be 'laughing' at me. So I got my secatuers out... giljotiini.gif

I think I'm going 12/12 today, and I'm doing an essence spray/drench. If I get round to it I will add a couple of fresh photos to my diary to show how they've improved in the last 2 weeks, but to be honest the problem I had was gone 5 days after the first application yahoo.gif

don't know if you think your problem is similar, hope you get it sorted though thumbsup.gif
Jasper
Hey thanks Mr. Sparkle.
Top of the day to you!

Yea aspects of your plants problems do look fairly similar to mine.

Overall you're right though, they don't look too bad. I'm not concerned about it jeopardizing the entire plant...just something that I'd like to get in check.

It's surprising how difficult it is to really pin down a problem! So many different possibilities that look so similar.

Nice looking plants you have there pal!

Yeah I believe you're correct about them being in too big of pots Blue Pixie. I understand that they should have started in smaller ones.

As for the medium going anaerobic and soggy, I doubt it. If anything I've let them get too dry. All the reading about soggy babies and whatnot keeps me on the dry side of things.

Black gold is made by a company called Sun Gro here in the states.

It's a mix of canadian sphagnum peat moss, perilite, dolomite lime and a "wetting agent" (must be top secret stuff)

It's what I was recommended by the local hydro shop for seedlings and whatnot.

I don't think there are any nutrients in it whatsoever. At least going off the list of ingredients, nothing has a single nute in it.

Perplexed.

Thanks for stopping by and assisting, much much appreciated

p.s the problem is still getting worse. The new growth is just fine, it's just the bottom set of leaves that are affected. Now all 5 plants have it to some degree.
Jasper
Well I guess I'm just going to assume it's from misting them. Thats about the best guess I can muster up as of now.
So naturally I've stopped that practice (dunno why I was in the first place...cuz I've read better)

Otherwise I'll just carry on as I have been I guess.
