I would appreciate some help with the Flora three part series if anyone can.

I'm using a 12 pot IWS with a 250l res but I've only filled it to 200L as I think 250L is excessive for 12 pots. I've found and downloaded three different feeding schedules, two from GHE and one from a distributor but they seem to contradict one another and when I've tried to go to one of them my EC is nothing like strong enough. If I were using an A & B it would be easier as I would just continue adding until I reached 1.4.

So far I went with the 3-2-1 mix so to the 200L I have added

800ml FloraGro
400ml FloraMicro
200ml FloraBloom

EC is only showing at 0.9 (soft water so I started at zero)

The other thing is if I need to add too much more then this grow is going to cost my a fortune just in nutes. Can anyone help? (I don't mean financially lol.gif)

Third feeding schedule from distributor

Looking at the last posted schedule a three part mix at three weeks says to use:

Gro 9ml / 10L - Micro - 6ml / 10L - 3ml/ 10L which should give an EC reading of 0.6 - 09 - isn't that week? I thought you should always aim for 1.4 or is it different with a three part mix?

That would mean adding the follwong to my 200L res:

Gro = 180ml
Micro = 120ml
Bloom = 60ml

I'm already way way above that. I've left it aerating for 30 mins and just given it a really good mixing and only reading 1.0.

Am i missing something here?

Hi m8ty,
Why not give the Lucas formula a go, it only uses the bloom and micro nutrients to achieve the desired PPM levels and he right nutrient mix. You can google it for details.
The nutrients that need to be added, are calculated and the amount of water changes is also kept to a minimum, if you wish to do so, as you can still change as often as you want. I have not used this system but I plan on doing so in a month or so`s time.

Best of luck with the grow, regards cain1.

yes you are missing something here, with the GHE 3part nutes above, is you dont use an EC pen, you add it as it states above.

all you need is a ph pen to make sure you get the correct ph.

spankydemonkey
to add to that and if my math is correct, say in 1st week of veg you need to use these amounts per 200litres.

50ml flora grow
50ml floramicro
50ml florabloom

so basically you break down the 200 litres in 10litres.......giving you 20 lots of 10's.

you just mulitply the stated dosages by 20 to get the amounts you need to add to 200 litres of water. wink.gif

From my experience you dont need grow and the following is based on the Lucas formula. We dont have Kool Bloom in the U.K so I use Grotek Monster Bloom.. You can see the colour and quality of the plants using this feeding regimen in my power plant diary here

So for 200L you would need to do 200L ÷ 3.7L (1Gal) = 54Gal
Then you just do

54 x 9ml Bloom = 486ml
54 x 6ml Micro = 324ml

This usually brings my EC to 1.4 - 1.6

==The Recipe==

(All Products are GenHydro,pH at 5.8-6.0 pH)
(All measurements are per gal.)
6ml flora micro
9ml flora bloom
Kool-Bloom POWDER

VEGETATIVE STAGE AT 24 HRS. LIGHT ON
(18/6,optional)

Veg,Feed:

6ml flora micro
9ml flora bloom

Use the above 1/2-strength on seedlings and clones to 10" tall, then feed full-strength>on.

Based on 63 day 12/12 Flower Cycle:

Day 1-14
6ml micro
9ml bloom

Day 15-21
6ml micro
9ml bloom
1 tsp./Gal. Kool-Bloom POWDER (ONE FEED,DAY 15!)

Day 22-28
6ml micro
9ml Bloom

Day 29-35
9ml Bloom
1 tsp./gal. Kool-Bloom POWDER (ONE FEED,DAY 29!)

Day 36-52
9 ml Bloom
(AND ON DAY 36,a 1 tsp./gal Kool-Bloom POWDER Slam!!)

Day 52-63 (Flush)
6.0 pH h20 at <500 ppm

Thanks for all the input guys. For this week I am going to drain of three quarters of what I have already mixed and top up to 250L with fresh water to roughly give me the 3-2-1 mix suggested by the manufacturers but as of next week I think I'll be switching to the Lucas formula. The main reason being that I already put a full bottle of diamond nectar and some rhizotonic in and I have non left of either.

Doobz - am I right in assuming you only dump your res once a fortnight then? I'll prob dump this after a week then veg for two more weeks on LF then go to flower but we'll see how things go. I'll be misting with Halo either today or tomorrow which I believe is supposed to generate some new growth.

Appreciate all the help all.

nope I dont dump anything bro as there is no waste in autopots..

Hi TTF,
If ur going to use the Lucas formula and u dont use RO water remember to take into account the starting PPM of ur water when mixing ur nutrients. If ur going to use RO water and you dont have an RO unit u can get a 3 stage unit for £50 at aquatics on line. I got mine from there and the build quality is good and it comes with all the fittings u need, and also a RO membrane made in the USA not some Chinese rip off. One thing it dont have is a backflush capability, but you can get this if u pay an extra £30 or so, but you dont need it.

Regards cain1.

R right Doobz - sweet.

Cheers cain - my starting PPM is either zero or too low for my truncheon to detect (ie less than 0.4). I might look into RO unit further down the line. It may only be 50 quid but times are hard. I've just had a look on aquatics online but they are rated at doing so many US gallons per day. My tank is 200 / 250L therefore needs 50-60 US gallons. I don't have room for a spare tank to filter this into so I don't think I'd have time to fill my tank without the plants getting dehydrated or hand feeding on nute changeover day. I know you mentioned some keep the same water in and monitor its levels etc but I don't want to change too much from what I know in one step if you know what i mean.

A bit off the topic of the thread but I plan to feed 4 times in an 18 hour period:

6:00am
11:45am
17:30pm
23:00pm

Light off between 12:00pm and 6:00am

Cheers TTF

Hi TTF,
I think its very unlikely to be zero. My PPM is about 180 straight from the tap.

Good luck cain1.
