'my computer' --> control panel --> add remove programs
or if you just want it to stop it starting when your pc boots up ..go into settings in the msn toolbar ..and untick the box that's says something like 'start msn on pc startup'

And get rid of any Norton POS that's on your PC - they don't make a single piece of software worth having. If you want a password manager, there are *plenty* of really good free ones out there. wink1.gif

e2a: You can also type msconfig at a DOS prompt (type cmd in the 'Run' box onthe Start menu) and deselect any programs that you don't want running every time your PC boots up - on practically all Win machines, there's *tons* of crap that's just slowing the computer down.

Norton is *shit* - you can get much better free AV programs like Avira! and AVG etc. - just Google for them (but uninstall Norton before you put another one on).

To remove the Live! thing - it really is as easy as typing msconfig and then removing the Live! program's entry in the Startup section - you're not going to break anything. wink1.gif

ok cheers scribble, ive sorted the msn live things, i just disabled it from starting up along with a good few other things, just a few things pop up in bottom corner now which makes it much faster biggrin.gif

i did once get told about that avg, forgot wat it was called tho, nice one, dint think it'd be better tho with it been free, shocking that these norton things cost 100's of pounds when free ones are just as good or better.

thanks agen

scribble what is it with norton software , my mum had it on her pc and it fucked it up i had to re-install windows

Back in the days of DOS/95 Norton actually used to produce good software that was actually written by Dr. Peter Norton - a few years later the company brand name got sold to Symantec, Dr. Norton was longer part of it, and the quality went downhill really quickly. Now they are probably the No.1 producers of expensive useless crapware for PCs (in second place and down you have your McAfees and your Dr.Solomon's etc.). wink1.gif

Agreed about Norton, but i've got Mcafee and it ain't too bad really
DanKu
i thought mcafee was good as well, ha, cant trust anyone these days, only want ya money. glad you cleared that up. ill stick to the freebies in future. just never liked downloading free software, thought the'd be dodgy. ah well, cheers
