hello all, popped round my mates last nite and he was potting up, so far they about 4weeks from seed.

they are killers, we went splits on a 10pack of seeds and i aint germed my 5 yet so even though i wish him all the best of luck with them i will be interested as to how many females he gets.. obviously if he flukes all 5 fems it highly increases my chances of mostly males which will make me cry

anyway like i said they only a few weeks into veg so far but i was amazed at how nice they smell, it made me wonder if they are fems?

so basically like the title says....do males stink of quality weed when in veg or is this a early sign of them being female?

also big up the killer strain he got some others growing with them and the 5 killers are easily recognisable as they look healthy and sturdy as fook compared to the other beans he cracked. also that smell considering its coming from a very small plant made me realise why all the hype about this strain i reckon its gonna be a true stinker!!!! just hope our puny 4inch fans and filters can handle it

Actually, even though it might seem that would be the case - it isn't.

Just because you've tossed a coin 5 times and gotten all tails, it doesn't increase in the slightest the chances of the next result being heads.

I have a book by Professor Ian Stewart called A cabinet of mathematical curiosities - he suggests that if you do toss a coin 5 times and got tails each time then the chances are you are more likely to get heads in the future. In fact Derren Brown uses some of Prof Stewart's theories in his stunts.

No - I'm really absolutely positive about this - it doesn't matter if you've just thrown 5 tails or 5000 - the chances of getting a head on the next toss are 50-50 no matter what has gone before it.

I know that it seems really counter-intuitive, but that's the way that probability works - it makes sense after you've thought about it for a while, though.

look at it this way, say u bet on the horses... would backing 5 favorites make the 6th favorite run worse?.. would backing 5 undercards make the 6th favorite run faster?

the events are separate and isolated from each other, so they cannot influence each other

EDIT: this kinda probability is very widly used in poker while calulating pot odds

In my own head I agree with you - after all it's chance (or so you would think), however the Prof has proved otherwise. It's a while since I read the it so will have to dig the book out and refresh my memory and then I will post a propper response.

Yeah males do smell and they do have small crystals which are hard to see by eye. Ive actually made hash from male trim and the smoke was actually quite good with a strong stone. not as nice as female hash tho

and even if by some luck he managed to get 5 fems from 5 seeds its equally as likely that the remainder of the pack of ten will also be 5 females? i can see how that could work however seeing most of the male/female ratio's on here if he did get 5 ladies IMHO i will be lucky to get 2 or 3 at best.
