right dudes, I've been running my modem (motorola surfboard4200) via USB since day one....
I purchased a wireless router today so ican wi-fi up my lappy.....
Basically AFAIK I need to have my PC, my Modem and my router all chained via ethernet right?
Well its being a cunt, and my PC wont even seem to connect to my modem direct via ethernet. what the fuck.

afaik my router is plugged into the phone socket and thats it ..the laptops all pick up and connect through that wirelessly ..no other hardware is needed .
No matter dudes, I switched it off and on again and its working now.
