My first part of my crop has been dried OK and is now in a large plastic bucket that originally had easter eggs in it, init lol.gif

Gets burped each day and seems to be fine, the way I'm getting through it it won't be around for more than a few months but wondered if there is any big advantage to glass jars.

You can see how much you have left lol.gif

ive found that some plastics can taint the buds taste slightly, as where glass doesnt, apart from that theres not much difference

Hmm I always use glass if you can shop around you can get bargin glass as cheap as tupper I've got a few 3l jar's for 3quid each from the range and sprayed them black for curing

Last year's shaman I use grease proof paper between the rubber and the neck of the jar stop's ne chance of rubber taining the nice stuff inside and you can put info on it as stain name and date etc

I use the same type of 3ltr jars as GL but I have not painted mine, I just keep mine in a cool dark cupboard after burping the jars for the final time, I also use grease proof paper around the seal because any thing else that has been cured/fermented in the jars, the rubber seal can hold on to the aroma from the product in the jar and this could then taint the next product cured/fermented in the jars. The same can happen if you use plastic containers as said above.

Using glass jars for curing is far superior to using plastic containers, as long as the jars have been properly sterilised and correctly sealed whilst the jar is still warm/hotish and then kept in a cool dark environment for the curing process, then the jar will not interfere with the taste or aroma of the bud, in my experience at least. I can always smell some thing in plastic Tupperware containers, even new containers carry a smell that could pass on to the taste of the bud, personally I would rather keep my bud in a clean brown paper bag before I used plastic containers for my bud.

i think another good reason to use glass is that trichs stick to plastic easier unsure.gif

as an example , look at what sticks to the inside of a baggie or if you remember from when you used to buy it..
( ahh, the good ole days, waiting for ages for some dodgy weed lol.gif )

also after you've used a jar a couple of times , you can do an iso wash or scrape it to get what might be left. whereas with plastic ,not so easy.
