Hello all guitar.gif How is everybody today, hope everybody is nice and baked lol.gif

Im thinkin about upgrading my 400w to a 600w (in a 1.2x1.2x2 tent that I usually use)

Ive got 5" H.P. ruck for extraction and a 5" L.P. ruck as an active intake, both attached to a primair controller

So the question is can I get away with running a 600w with 5" system or will I need 2 upgrade 2 a 6"??

Also was thinkin about upgrading my ballest to a digital one, does anyone know if this radiowave problem had been solved cause I dont wanna get busted over somethin stupid as a ballest!

Thanks in advance Tom spliff.gif

Hello,

I run a 600w HPS in a tent of your size,

I use an 6" out and a 4" in and temps at the moment have been 82 lights on.

I have just brought an 8" and am going to use the 6" for the fresh air.

I also have a digi ballast and i got a radio in the next room and have not noticed anything different.

Summer it was getting just a tad to hot for me so thats why i got the 8".

Peace & Light

I've got a 600w digi in a tent your size with roughly 200m2 > out and 150m2 >intake with a parabolic with no heat problems (Buy one you'll love it, trust me best £60 I ever spent) intending to swap out for 1000w tonight HPS chedck my diary to see how it goes. (And shots of the parabolic, the best thing is it hardly puts any heat down it's all above the reflector. Top of my tent, above the reflector is very warm say 35C but the canopy is only 20-24C.

Cheers 4 ur help guys whistling.gif I might just stick with the 400w does it make a huge difference upgrading 2 a 600w? Yeah ive got a parabolic reflector matey there well good! I have had my bulb before literally 10" away from the canopy, ive noticed such an improvement since switchin from normal dutch barn reflectors would reccomend them 2 anybody as im sure u would spliff.gif

Thats good 2 know cause the only thing puttin me off is the thread in the lightin forum about digi ballests, quite a few people have confirmed the same thing as u mr M, the problem seems 2 of been worked out.

Unless the ambient temps in the room are very high than a 5inch HP ruck and an intake should easily cover venting needs for you. The extraction is being vented out i assume and not being pushed back into the room unsure.gif

A 600 does make a huge difference to a 400, it's the most efficient lamp for a start so you can expect quite a yield difference. It also penetrates further down so it's much more useful if you tend to grow larger plants. Growing in a tent i'd expect you'll have better height than me so i don't think you'll have too much trouble with a 600 in there smile.gif

Bizzarely my temps haven't raised a bit with the 1000w in a parabolic yet a 600w in a diamond makes the tent ungrowable.

Steady 22C this morning after 12 straight hours on. I realise grow height is going to be intersting if they get too tall and I can't tie them down I'll swap back to a 600w but I hope I don't have to.

¿Where are you measuring your temps from - at canopy height, in the shade? unsure.gif

Canopy heigh, got a digi max, min with the outdoor probe string tied to one of the growing tips. That way I can how hot it got when I wasn't there.

Not really shaded, can't get pics now but grab some when the lights go on.

My probe is at canopy level aswell and I have a parabolic reflector so there is no shade spots guitar.gif

ADVISE - dont buy a parabolic reflector that is a meter square and put it in a meter square tent because it doesnt extract properly! unsure.gif

I've got mine in a 1.2m tent and it's a tight fit, can't imagine it fitting in 1m2 and hanging square.

Absoloutly mate, it is a very tight fit indeed! Ive got myself a 1.2 for next time though guitar.gif onwards and upwards ohwell....

I take it u r also a big fan of the parabolic reflector my friend??

Does it effect the extraction majorily in a 1.2 aswell then??

Would b interested in hearin back from you guitar.gif
