Myself and a small group of friends are going to play Aion when it releases on Sunday.

I've played a few beta's and it's a pretty good game. Just wondering if any uk420 people are planning to play?

tell us about it. Free? What sort of story line does it use?

Planning to program a bot of some sort to improve my c++ and this new game looks like a good place to start.

Aion is cool, the character the fight, i think it is the best in 2009

Sounds like it might be worth a look, I'm after a new game to play at the moment. Can anyone else recommend it? I don't like shelling out for new releases but it would be nice to get in early if it's going to be worth it.

Despite the lack of feedback , I went ahead and bought the game.

I think it's very similiar to WoW so far (just got my char to lvl 10). The graphics are better (reminds me of when I first saw Quake having being used to Doom) but the way the characters moves seem a bit 'stiff'. It certainly seems to have potential though and judging by the General Chat the opinion is favourable (everyone is comparing it to WoW). It's pretty impressive for a new release at any rate (in comparison to others). But tbh, if you're bored of the whole concept of Fantasy MMORPG (like I am) then I'm not sure you'll get the mileage out of this. WoW was about as good as you can get with today's graphics so (imo) until we take the next leap forward in computing we're just going to get re-hashes of the tried and tested genres.

I'll post back in the next few days and let you know how my opinion's changed.
