I have some Laughing Buddha growing and just wondered whether anyone else has any tips or info regarding LB as ive heard it takes a long time to fully mature and flower? Its currently about 7ft tall, and is so big I actually have to get up a step ladder to check the top cola (dont like bending it down!). The stem is more like a trunk, possibly 1.5 inches in diametre, maybe more!!

2 and a half weeks in and the buds are fuzzing up nicely and look really frosty! Will load up some pics when I get a chance, its currently pissing it down with rain!

Does rain damage outdoor plants??

It can completly wreck them need to keep a close eye for the rot.

Heres a few pics, unfortunately they were only taken on a 5mp camera phone and I dont think I can macro it! I will get some better pics soon. I think its been flowering for 2 and a half weeks but im not sure, what are the first signs of flowering and make I can work it backwards to get a date...

Thanks!

PS. It is currently around 8 feet tall and they are just the buds that are roughly my height level lol.gif, I havent seen the top for about 2 months lol.gif

Hopefully mate! What would happen if I harvested the plant but left the main stem where it is....could it potentially regrow next year if it survives the winter??

The chances of that are I am afraid close to zero.

Update! The plant seems to be yellowing all over now, from bottom to top now (whereas before it was only the bottom). I think the only parts that are green now is about a foot and a half from the top down, is this normal as I think I am a week or 2 away from harvest but dont want to leave it too long if its trying to tell me something and needs to be chopped earlier.

Any thoughts? I definately havent got 75% orange hair coverage yet but was hoping for it to happen in the next week and a half....

Just keep a real close eye out for mold it can set in quick.
Logic3Kid
Rain over the next 3 days solid......

as the man said Mold is a bastard and most of the time its on the inside of the buds and spreads out just try and keep checking on them

Its really annoying as I know they can g on for longer if it wasnt for the weather! Anyknow know anything about why thewhole plant is turning yellow? I havnt used nutes for 3 weeks or so to fly it through...

Truly Bangin plant mate.. Its probably because the plant has stopped putting effort into the leaves and is now focusing on the buds, its nothing to worry about, just make sure u watch out for when the leaves die completely as they can mould and ruin everything

Well guys, the day finally came for me to chop it down about 3 weeks ago. It had 14 days in the dark hanging upside down and a further 4 days brown bagged, its now been jarred up and is curing nicely. See below for a pic on the yield, I havent weighed it at all though, maybe I should have done lol.gif!

I think I have some key learnings for the future on this, they are as follows:

1) Location - Back garden grows are dangerous as fuck and my general health will be a hell of a lot better with the ladies planted elsewhere next year
2) Strains - I need to choose carefully for next year based on location. I wildly chose Laughing Buddha seeds because they were relatively cheap and i'd smoked some of it in Amsterdam the month previous. However in heindsight, LB is one long ass flowering mother fucker and so with our shitty UK weather, it really did need another 4 weeks minimum to prduce its full potential
3 Germination - Germination was basically non-existant for the 5 seeds that I planted in pots of soil. Out of the 5 seeds, only one germinated so next year I will approach this differently. I think riot root cubes are the way forward

I think thats it, I have quite a bit homegrown bud thats not 100% perfect but is better and vaster in quantity than the dank dealer weed thats knocking about so I would say its been a huge success. Spend versus reward really has been top notch with costs comig in at around £60 all in, £40 for the seeds and £20 for Bio-Bizz Bloom and Grow (I had access to free Coya sp? so that kept costs down even further).

All eyes are on next year now with a possible guerilla grow planned for feminised seeds (5 x Frisian Dew's and 5 x Passion#1's) at seperate plots. But for now, let the good times roll
