Hey all, sorry if this question is really stupid but ive done a lot of reading and i cant seem find an answer anywhere.

Anyway, ive just ordered some bio bizz allmix and some perlite and ive got a ph soil test kit thing. I was wondering if i can use the soil ph test kit too test the ph of mh tap water as well??

Also, if i test my soil and its ph is at 8.0 for example, then how do i go about reducing the ph?? I was thinking i would just adjust the ph of my water and when i water the plants the soil would change to the ph of the water. Is this right or am i totally on the wrong track?

Aslo, ive seen a ph test kit that includes ph up and down as well but its for fish tanks and that. But can i still use that to check my water and soil or do i need a different test?

Hope that all makes sense and sorry if its a stupid question but i just want to make sure im doing the right thing.

Cheeers, Si

It is usual practice not to adjust your PH when growing in compost as the compost buffers the PH also adjusting the PH damages the micro flora that you are trying to create...
