I'm posting up the topic on behalf of a friend who's motherboard is broke and needs some advice on buying a new one which is compatible with his current hardware.

He's got around £70 to spend on a new board, can anyone help us point me to the best one to replace this current one with?

His current setup is as follows...

Motherboard:
-Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe

Processor:
-AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4400+ (SOCKET 939)

Memory:
-Kingston ValueRAM 1024MB 400MHz DDR Non-ECC CL3 (3-3-3) DIMM

Graphics Card:
-XFX GeFORCE 8400GS 512MB DDR2 TV DVI PCI-E

Power Supply:
-Sansun 500w ATX

Hard Drive:
-Maxtor Diamondmax 10 250G IDE

Thanks in advance

OK, from what I have been reading it seem that 939 Sockets are on their way out and are fairly rare. However there are still a few about;

Asrock 939N68PV-GLAN/M/ASR nForce 630A Socket 939 Motherboard available at Aria or MicroDirect.

Microstar MSI MS-7168 Core Orion Socket 939 uATX Dual DDR400, PCIe, SATA RAID, VGA & LAN, 6ch Audio OEM bare Micro ATX Motherboard available at PCUPGRADE

Gigabyte K8NUSLI-NF Socket 939 , PCI-E x2 SLi / DUAL CH DDR / SATA RAID / 8CH AUDIO / Gb LAN / NV FIREWALL / ATX OEM MOTHERBOARD also available at PCUPGRADE

Just google search for the companies selling them (Aria, MicroDirect and PCUPGRADE), and email them with you're PC spec before buying. I used Aria to build my last PC and they we're really helpful.

If you need further help just let me know and I'll do what I can.
