i reposted this from guerilla growing , hope some one can help.

A question iv bean wondering about today. Say you cant grow in your local soil because its clay or bad ph etc.
You then decide to grow in smart pots, containers or grow bags.
what happens when the roots grow out of the container filled with your soil mix and then goe in to the local shit soil.

does your soil mix protect the plant as a buffer against the conditions of the local soil or will it fuck the roots and the plant up.

thanks

id of thought it would get shock changing soil types...

Is your local soil shite then? Can always make it better...

Dig a 12 inch hole under each pot and fill with the same medium as in the pots is the quickest way I can think of.
