hello folks,

i've been reading this site all summer and think i have learned more here than in much of my education...the trick is being interested!! so thanks.

i've been growing some plants around the garden since april a couple in pots a couple in the ground. they're looking great and they've just begun flowering so i think i'm finally on the home stretch. of course there's a lot that can go wrong in these last 8 weeks or so, so i'm spending a few quid in the hope it'll ensure i actually see a bit of crop for my hard work.

3 things i'm going for are;

citrofresh- spray on anti mould treatment. i'm sure most of you will of heard of this.

genius oil- (neem oil product) applied to growth medium or sprayed on to the foliage. repels pests.

liquid oxygen- claims to do loads of things including; killing bacteria, pests, fungi, stimulate root growth and protein protection. says it can be used as a preventative measure or treatment. never heard of it before, not sure if it'll live up to all it claims but it's got to be worth a try.

if anybody is interested i'll keep you posted how they do. also if anybody has any experience with using these products oudoors i'd be grateful to know how they if they helped.

i hope this doesnt break any forum spamming rules, i just think if these products can save buds it's going to help a lot of people.

cheers,

Frank.

Travena-OxiPlus TR35 is a non-hazardous biodegradable oxidant that stimulates natural bacteria and fungi thereby accelerating the bio-remediation of all forms of land and water contamination. Rapidly changes anaerobic conditions to aerobic, destroying odours and preventing dangerous methane and hydrogen sulphide build up from waste treatments. It is an oxygen-rich liquid that is manufactured from Oxygen & Nitrogen bearing salts dissolved in pure water. There are no poisons or harmful chemicals in it, so it is safe to humans, animals, plants and the environment, but could cause problems if ingested. OxiPlus-TR35

Does this mean the salts stay in the liquid?

Im in exactly the same boat as you regards coming up to my first home stretch and most of the voices of experience have advised against further moistening a plant susceptible to mould.

If you want to use your plants as a guinea pig im really interested to see the results! But I personally wont be using any liquid oxygen this time around.

Good luck sir

Thanks boys,

as i understand it the "liquid oxygen" is added with the nutes and protects the plant from viruses bacteria and fungi. it can be used to treat illness or prevent it so i think i'll just keep it to a minimal dose every now and then as a bit of a precaution.

as for spraying plants with moisture to prevent mould...i know, it seems a bit wrong. but the way i see it, they're piss wet through all the time at the minute anyway and 1 application is sposed to protect for 2 weeks. so hopefully it'll do more good than harm.

thanks for the neem advise mr coco, i'll definately follow it. might spray neem on other (non smokable) plants round the area and hope it keeps them away rather than forcing them on to the girls.

Hello again,
Well here I am 1 week into using these products, and apart from one pretty major disaster (when I snapped a beefy lower branch nearly completely off my favorite plant...patched her up pretty good though) all’s pretty well.

The mould/fungi situation is ok, 3 out of the 4 plants are showing no signs of mould. The bushy-est plant is showing something white mouldy film which I presume is mildew. Its getting this mainly on branches and the stalks of leaves but I’m keeping on top of it with citrofresh and rubbing it away with a tissue. It's not broken the skin and doesn’t seem to be that bad as of yet as I’ve been catching it early. Apart from this treatment I’ve been giving them all a pretty heavy preventative misting every few days

The neem oil product “genius oil” ssems to be doing the job. I’ve sprayed it on the leaves twice and added to feed twice. One of my plants was getting eaten a fair bit more than the rest so it got a heavier dose. Seen a couple of insects and flies but it’s a fraction of what it was. Changing of the season should see to that soon anyway.

As for the liquid oxygen, it’s basically a hydrogen peroxide product. I found this on one FAQ’s on here:

"Hydrogen peroxide is beneficial as an addition to nutrient feeding programs at all times. It feeds the good aerobic bacteria and kills the bad anaerobic bacteria. It also introduces radical oxygen atoms which oxidize elements, making them more available for the roots to assimilate" misterito. i've also read that it is thought to stress plants (possibly causing hermie's??).

I’ve given it one dose a week ago might give it another one in a couple of days. It didn’t kill them and as they were pretty healthy anyway, no change to report.

so that's where i'm up to, i'll keep you posted.

Frank.
